Had a stroke about 6 weeks ago. Numbness left side. Was put on 50mg Cozaar & 25mg Hydrochorothiazide and told me to take 81mg of aspirin a day. Blood pressure was good but the Cozaar affected upper resiratory and started to cough, just like when they had me on the Altace about 4 years ago, for 7 months. X-rays showed my lungs were full and my heart was enlarged. After one month off Altace my lungs still had fluid in them but my heart was back to normal. I still have the Altace cough so when Cozarr made the cough worse, I went off it. I stopped taking the Hydrochorothiazide when it had the opposite effect of what it was suppose to do. Im taking a natural product now called Nattokinase and it seem to be working. It does the same things as the above without the side effects.

Began taking cozaar in 1998. Slowly my arms/skin became very fragile I would merely touch something and I would get a red bruise. Anyone else?

Good for you Annette! A pill is never a "fix-all". It's important to make lifestyle changes too, like exercising, getting to a good weight and eating a healthy diet. It can make a huge difference!
Cozaar often shows up with side effects of a dry mouth, cough, respiratory infections, and light headedness. Watch your potassium levels too. Even though these things can be a pain, it's better than stroke and heart attack, right?

ive been taking cozzar for about 6 months but quit about 2 weeks ago the side effects were too much for me insomnia, anxiety, dull chest and arm pain, fatigue. Does anyone have experience with quitting cozaar just want to know how long the side effects continue after you stop the medication.

i have started a new regimen of exercise 4 times a week, apple cider vinegar 3 times per day and other dietary changes to see how that works.

I have been on cozaar for around 8 months- I have had lots of pain behind both knees - ibs like symptoms- that go off and on and dry mouth- I thought something else was wrong with me but now i am realizing that it may just be this high dose of meds-I take the highest poss. dose. I am relieved in a way but I want off to see if I get improvement.... did you improve when you went off?

Was on cozaar for a number of months and experienced a multitude of symptoms. Because I also suffer from fibromyalgia type symptoms, I attributed the new problems with that issue. Until one nite after taking my cozaar and some heart palps started within 1/2 hr and I put two and two together. Immediately went off cozaar on my own and new symptoms abated. Discussed with my doctor and she said she wasn't fond on cozaar to begin with but it worked for some people.

I was on Lisinoprill for about 3 months and discovered I had a dry hacking cough close to gagging mainly in the mornings. I told my GP who told me about 1 in 3 suffer in this way and then he put me on cozaar to which I have been taking for nearly 6 weeks I have steadily been getting worse over time starting with the sore throat I have had back pain a numbness and tingling sensation in my left thigh but the sore throat has developed into ear ache swollen glands in the neck swollen roof of mouth and my larynx feels that some one is scratching it with a red hot poker and makes my eyes water ? very embarassing in meetings in work I have been bringing up phlemg This is not a cold I have no temperature and apart from all this I feel quite well within myself! I have also on top of every thing else got piles !!! All this swelling of sensitive parts of my body I am beginning to believe is related to cozaar I have from today stopped taking it on my doctors recommendation he also believes that Hey fevor may be playing a part ? this may be true but I have taken anti hystomines today and they have had no effect !! I will let you know what happens in the next few weeks but has any one else suffered the same????? Please excuse my spelling!

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Taurus

Today is potentially very romantic, as the Moon and Venus enliven your sex life. If you open up your heart, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The Bull is slow to fall in love, but tends to be very loyal and committed, which makes it important for you to choose your partners wisely. You feel more intense, especially from the standpoint of the psychological motivations and behavior patterns involved.
