Cozaar-side effects

My boyfriend has been on Cozaar for about 14months. Initially, our sex life was great. Then about two months into taking the drug, he lost interest in anything sexual. Nothing gets him interested. I have to make an appointment with him, and remind him.....he says it is not me. He was very sexual, innuendos, touching, all that...now absolutley nothing. He has to take a pill to perform the deed now too. I could deal with that, if at least he actually seemed interested. He seems very embarrassed and doesn't want to talk about it. I am at a loss, for I love him, but this is killing me, killing us. He has seen naked women, and he has nothing, I mean nothing, going upstairs or down. He says he will make a Doctor's appt. and get on a different drug, but that was months ago and still nothing. I have asked him if he wants me to leave, and he said that has nothing to do with it. " I need to stop badgering him aobut it" and thinking about it all the time. Well, if I didn't, it would never happen. Please, Please, can anyone help me before i just give up on us? Or is that what he wants?

I've been on similar medication for over a year, but I have to take breaks from it for a week or two. It's amazing the difference in sex drive and energy level, with little difference in BP if you watch your diet and sodium intake, and do a lot of walking or other exercise.

The fact that these medications cause serious birth defects is a pretty good indication that they're not safe for the average person to take either!

Wow, this is the first thing I've heard about Cozaar affecting sexual desire, but mine has totally got up and gone. Now that I think about it, the desire left a couple of months after the doctor put me on it -- 14 months ago. I'm 55 years old, but before Cozaar things were perfectly normal. Another funny similarity to your boyfriend's experience. Once it left, it really left. I mean, it was not frustrating in the sense I wanted sex but could not perform. I just didn't want it. Period. I don't even look at pretty girls anymore, except to think in a very abstract way now and then than one is pretty, but it's as though I am admiring a painting, not feeling anything. Your post may have changed my life, because I'm going to get off this drug a while and see what happens.

For what ever reason don't stop Cozaar without
guidance from a Physician as stopping suddenly
can make you become a candidate for an
embolism or blood vessel breakage.

You must taper off this drug!
