If you decide to do it do it slowly, cut the daily dose by half every 2 weeks, stay on alow dose if you can tollerate. Reserches discovered in Japan the low dose (2.5 mg twice a day) is effective, not like high dose, but still..

I suffered from viral myocarditis and my heart failed, my ejection fraction dropped to 21. I had one cardiologist put me on Coreg which made me tired and depressed and then another cardiologist took me off and I continued to heal and then a third cardiologist put me back on. I think I was better off without it so I'll try slowly getting off and keep posting the results. I also take lisonopril for blood pressure which works great and with no side effects.

I take lisonopril 10 mg and have no side effects and the drug works well for me.

I had the same diagnosis in December 2006. My heart ejection was under 20. I too was put on lisinopril, lasix, and started on small (3.25mg 2x/day). After a year, my heart ejection was at 41. At that point I was up to 12.5mg 2x/day. Then increased to 25mg 2x/day. It kicked my butt and I gained 15 pounds and became depressed. I asked if there was another option and the cardiologist suggested coreg cr 80mg. I take it right before bed. I just went for my 2 year echo and my heart ejection is now up to 55. I see the cardiologist next week but I am beaming. I hope I can start reducing my dosage of coreg. It took two years for me to "finally" have a noticeable improvement, but worth it. I am only 43 and have four children (and husband) that need me to get better. They don't care about the weight or depression b/c there is light at the end of the tunnel. Stick with it if you can bear it, it will eventually work. Also, please call your cardiologist prior to weaning yourself off of anything. GOOD LUCK!

You probably had a Takosubo episode.......better known as broken heart syndrome. It presents exactly like a heart attack. I had the same thing due to long term stress and grief over the death of my daughter. My BP had been running high for several months. The doc put me on coreg and Lisinopril..........so far, so good. He plans to wean me off within 6 months, but I may start the process myself earlier.

Daily Horoscope for December 1

Leo

Many of you will be in the public eye early on as the Moon lights up your tenth house of reputation. Be sure to be on your best behavior! It may be hard to focus on your work, but this is not the time to fall down on the job. Avoid office gossip and discipline yourself so that when bonuses are handed out, your diligence will be remembered. Things brighten up later in the day when the Moon enters Gemini. It's a fortunate phase!
