I wonder how many of those who die were given the drug AMIODARONE???? The drug is used with little regard for it's horrific side effects...most medical professionals seem to disregard the FDA warning and don't even recognize it's toxic side effects when they present themselves! Someone needs to study that!

I was put on amiodarone after my second heart attack. I was not able to tolrate it in high doses, and eventually stopped the medication. I began to have severe problems with afib middle of 2008, and a pacemaker was inserted as well as placing me on 200 mg per day of amiodarone. due to staph infection at site of pacemaker it had to be removed. Have just received a 2nd one May 26th. On May 30 I suffered another heart attack. While in hospital received 2 more stents and was put on massive doses of amiodarone, drip and pill form. Sent home June 5th with perscription for 200 mg 3 times a day. I took one dose that evening, but by the next morning I was unable to navigate from one room to another without help - same symptom I had when it was perscribed the first time, only much, much more severe. This drug should be removed from the market.
