I was prescribed clindamycin for a abscessed molar. Within four doses I had mild diarrhea. After three days X 4 doses/day my face swelled, my eyes swelled almost shut and my ears swelled. I had a rash all over my upper torso. My blood pressure has been (+ or -) 180/100 and pulse in the low 60 beats per minute. I thought initially it was a bug bite reaction and took three additional doses on day 4. I have stopped taking it completely and after 2 days the symptons have subsided but have not completely diminished 3 days since stopping doses.
I am on three medications which probably compounded my reaction: Lisinopril 20MG/Day, Atenolol 25 MG/Day, and Allopurinol 300 MG/Day. |

You absolutely did the right thing stopping the medication--did you speak with your health care provider about your reaction? In addition to helping you, by law they have to report such reactions, which helps educate both drug makers and patients about potential risks, etc from use of the drug.
It sounds like you had a bad allergic reaction, which often can get after a few days of taking a medication (because they're bodies now recognize the 'foreign invader', and then mount a response). I hope things are going better for you-- Tara |

I am taking this for Cellulitis. I had 3 cysts on my skin that were very painful and my lymph nodes swelled up. The medicine has given me explosive gas (I mean I could fly). Also I have been feeling very low energy. I don't know if that is a side effect. But I can't seem to snap out of feeling out of it as if I'm coming down with the flu. I sleep a lot and the doctor said my immune system is just down. But its been a week since I've been on the medicine and I'm almost done with it. The cysts have almost healed but my energy is still low.

I am allergic to penicilin which I told doctor. He said this was stronger anyway. When I got the worst case of diarea that i had to wear adult diaper f0r three days. I notified him and he told me to either keep taking or stop, he will not change it to one of millions i could take that would help me problems without passing away from dehydration. He said no and when i talked to the secretary for advice, she said"he said "No more pills" and HUNG UP ON ME!!! I have never heard of such a thing. I have state insurance because i just left my job so that i could have a long over due operation.
THIS PLACE IS THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN WITH THE MOST UNCOMPATIONATE PEOPLE THAT WORKED IN SUCH A FIELD. So don't go to"Family Dental Care, LLC Abdollah nadimi, D. D. S. Wol |

What law requires them to report these reactions? My health care people were sympathetic, but nothing indicated to me that anyone was going to file any kind of report. |
