What is the recovery time? Like many who've posted here, I've had mild diarrhea, nausea, gas, inability to stay asleep at night, and no appetite for over a week now. Symptoms started about a week after my last dose.

Thoughts from anyone who's recovered from this drug after suffering side effects would be great to hear.

I can't believe I didn't read these posts before taking this poison! I was taking 150mg 3x day and only stayed on it for 5 days, all because I had a splinter in my finger that got infected... I have had diarrhea, stomach pains and nausua. I am terrified what's going to be next and how bad did I mess up my body? I went to the pharmacy and was told to eat alot of yogart and take acidophilus tablets that will help your body replace the good bacteria that was wiped out by this POISON. Reading these posts it seems that everyone has a different recovery time and some haven't recovered. Any and all info would be helpful. thanks

I took Clindamycin with Prednisone for poison sumac, had no idea of the side effects (indigestion, heartburn, rash, burning throat, trouble swollowing). I never had any of these problems before in my life! It's been over a week since I took it but not over the side effects yet. I started on acidophilus as recomended and it seemed to help a little. How long if ever before the effects are gone? thanks for any replies.

The only side-effect I got was being bloated. But I also took acidophilus capsules everyday, ate active yogurt and drank a TON of water.

I stopped taking on Monday and it is Wednesday and my symptoms are getting worse ... fever, heartburn, headache, chills, dizzy, tired ... I may need to go see a doctor. The cure is worse than the disease!

You took the medication in February, and are still having rash problems? Are you eating yogurt or anything to instill good bacteria? I noticed some people who ate yogurt during the medication appear to have been just fine. I didn't, and have had the rash for almost one month. Prednisone takes it away, but 3 days after stopping the steroids it comes back.

I took Clindamycin for 10 days for an infected tooth. Diarrhea lasted for two weeks after finishing. The rash developed 3 days after the last dose and covered my entire body and legs... not so much on face. Took a 10 day course of prednisol which mostly cleared up the rash. Now 4 days after last dose of prednisol the rash is back again. Saw the doctor today... again!... and was put on another 10 day course of prednisol. I'm worried because the prednisol could be worse than the rash.... HELP!

Only took 3 clindamycin pills for tooth abcess anbd have had the runs for two weeks and two days now. Have tried all sorts of probiotics yogurts etc but to no avail. How long is this going top go on? Never take clindamycin folks. It's a very dodgy drug. It should be banned. It is not medicine. It is poison.

Wow, I wish that I would have seen all of this before I started taking this lethal stuff. I got it from my dentist for a tooth infection, 150mg, 3X/day. Out of the gate, I had the diarrhea, but wrote that off to normal antibiotic reaction. Now, 2 weeks after my last dose, it is getting worse by the day; severe cramping, watery diarrhea 8-10 times per day, bloody mucus, etc.. I can't drink a glass of water without doubling over in pain, and then can't get to the bathroom quick enough. I am 48 and I have never really been sick much in my life. I have never taken alot of medicine, and now this has made be really leary. I have never felt anything like this, and my advice to anyone is to stay as far from this medicine as you can. Someone here called it poison, and I think they hit the nail on the head. How long is this going to last, or does it go away without medical attention. I am eating yogurt and drinking lots of water.

I took it for a spider bit for 10 days - got the rash and severe stomach problems that did not go away for three weeks until the doctor prescribed " flagyl " - which in turn gave me a severe reaction that lasted three months. I agree - stay away from clindamycin at all costs. I am still having problems and am hesitant to try any other medicine to cure it.

I took clindamycin for a bad tooth infection(abscess) at the end of August. The tooth got infected again around the end of November. I took it again -300mg 3 times a day for 10 days. I had the tooth pulled out, but about a week after taking the pills the loose stools with mucus started and have been going ever since. Seems like not long after eating or drinking anything I have to head to the bathroom. Sometimes all mucus . I started eating yogurt but it's not making much difference. Does anyone have any "home cures" that work to fix this without seeing a doctor ? It doesn't seem to be getting better on it's own. I could use some ideas . Thanks
