cipro tendon damage

I have a tendon tear in my left shoulder. I was prescribed Cipro for possible diverticulitis, to take 2 times a day, stopped after two doses due to increased pain in my entire left arm and difficulty lifting anything with my left hand. Has anyone experienced tendon problems after only one day on this drug??

Dear nancy,
I was given a rx for Cipro for an infection in my gall bladder. I researched it before taking it...you should be aware that tendon tears are listed as a side affect of this drug. The FDA gave this side effect a black box warning, the worst warning a drug could have. There are numerous class action lawsuits for tendon ruptures linked to Cipro! Look on the net!
