i need to know what the drug named "cephalexin" what is it for what does it cure

Cephalexin (http://www.originaldrugs.com/medicine/cephale... ) is a first generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat respiratory tract infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections and other infections.

They are effective with bacterial infections and usually don't do anything for viral infections.
