hi. i have been taking zoloft for 4 years and i had tapered off it to only taking the 100 mg pill a few times a week. about a month ago my panic attacks came back badly. i started taking my zoloft every day again but i am still not seeing any improvement. i just increased the zoloft to 150 mg 4 days ago and my anxiety seems worse. the dr. said that i can switch to celexa or try to tough it out with the zoloft for a few more weeks. anyone have any experience with this? should i give the zoloft more time to work or switch to celexa? zoloft worked for me before for 4 years so will it work again? thanks so much!

i walk 5 miles a day , ride a bike an take supplements, but my depressive illness is a life time thing,i need meds, dont get me wrong its great your ok, but be careful its not a false honeymoon , depression tend,s to bite you on the arse when you least expect it.even depression has a rest for a time, if its chemical imbalance with like seratonin you need the med,s to correct the flow. but good luck an stay safe.

no wonder your all over the place ,you carnt take zoloft when you feel like it a few times.you have to take it every day to get a pattern going, Jesus your brain must be on overdrive , takeing in a med 1 day an detoxing the next, get on you 100mg every day an wait for effect it could like me take 12 weeks

1 thanks so much. i think because i was feeling fine i just wasn't careful about taking the medicine and then all of a sudden i felt terrible again. i just hope the zoloft works for me again. i have read things on line that said it can stop working and it scared me. i just want these panic attacks and depression to subside! |

mjw , zoloft is in the top 2 ssri,s that an escitalopram, that have been labeled the most effective by a massive survey, plus if you have the real zoloft an not its generic sertraline like me even better.but zoloft does take time for the full effect. but 150 was to much for me, 100mg is a cool level.so stay put even if you feel great, that means it,s working an thats what you took it for.dont give in because of side effects they all have some ,but get better in time. stay safe. /// im dyslexic so sorry about how i write

I was on 150 ml zoloft and it just messed my system up, im still dealing with the effects from it. I decided to cut my zoloft in half and so far so good i guess. Still having stomach issues but i think its trying to clear up. I been on meds all my life it seems, have suffered from panic attacks and all kinds of depression and anxieties. I think its a life long thing for me.

sparky, hello 150mg is to much for me to , 100mg is better i have only just dropped to that, There is a lot of side effect issues as you say, my main 1 is jiont pain, but the med does what it said on the box an we have to put up with the side effects or risk deperession.

sparky, i have bad panic attacks too. i took the 100 mg every day for 4 weeks and the dr. thought if i increased the dosage to 150 it might work better. i might need to go back to 100 and give it more time to kick in. the 150 might be making me more jittery which doesn't help when you already have anxiety! ha ha

one more question, has anyone been on zoloft for a long time and just had to change the dosage from time to time? i worry that it worked well for me for 4 years and has "pooped out" and won't work again.

man, i hate the panic attacks. I cant even go into a restarant without getting that closed up feeling, and then here it comes.. heart racing, sweats, cant breathe..ive even run out of grocery stores before... its horrible. My doc had me taking xanax at one point, but that was a big mistake as i was just to zoned out. Then he switched me over to adivan for the shakes, which seems to help when i get to overly anxious. But when i go back next week, he wants to put me on something to help me sleep. Im a walking pharmacy!

I was a daily vodka girl, I still hit the bottle sometimes, just to make the world go away for awhile. vodka and sprite. Been to detox also. Was that why you went, to detox out? Yep, your body gets use to ativan and you start needing more and more to get thru the days, or nights. No, you sure dont need to go thru a meltdown manic. Had a good friend of mine go thru that and wasnt a pretty sight.:( I just hate being so down all the time, and the only thing that helps is pills. Was on suicide watch once, but got over that. So far so good, anyway.

Since I posted my comment about not taking any more prescription drugs because I believe exercise and support groups and counselling and natural medicine & nutrition works the best... it's just a little more costly though, because my prescriptions are mostly covered. I am opting out of this post, because I see the majority here are completely sucked into the pharmaceutical propaganda... I believe they are useful in emergency situations, then get off them and use what the planet gives us to stay healthy. Goodbye everyone and goodluck. Linda Kelly, Kaslo BC

Manic, you got that right, its all we have, its all we cling to. At least i know i do. Ive been to the counseling sessions, intervention, etc.. nothing like that helps me either.
I have problems with my dopamine, and my serotinin. Ive even duct taped my windows up on some occasions to keep light out,and just sit in the dark. Im not a pyscho <i dont think> im just depressed and borderline suicidal at times, and introverted to the extreme. And terribly shy. |
