Angie.....YES..they work amazing together!Celexa takes away anything sexual.Wellbutrin gives it back.Celexa makes you kind of numb.Wellbutrin added fixes that. But they should really be taken together!!.One without the other does nothing for me or anyone I no or have read about here.Laurie.Def start taking the wellbutrin again.People take it with 60 mg,but really if you only need it for seasonal.Id take the 150 wellbutrin. You might even go down on the celexa.Im only on 10mg of celexa, and then i added the wellbutrin 150.If I took more Id never be able to sleep! It took a couple of weeks, but all of a sudden I felt great. My only downer is its making me gain weight.

I was on Celexa last year, but decided to stop taking it after four months. I had completely lost any interest in sex. My husband liked my new happy mood but wasn't too pleased that I couldn't deal with sex at all. I was just put on Wellbutrin today and I was told that I shouldn't have that problem with this. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have been taking Wellbutrin for over a year. I love that it has the least amount of side effects out of other depression/anxiety meds, but it makes one irritable as heck. I was reading through the comments and noticed that many people said the same thing. I teach high school, and I felt so sorry for my kids. I was a complete a#*hole lol. I talked with my doctor, and he put me on Celexa the other day. I'm taking 1/2 a pill for a week and then 1 a day. He said the Celexa should curve the moodiness and irritablility. I'm also taking Vyvanse (an upgrade of Adderall) for A.D.D., and that gives me LOTS of energy and focus. I feel like I could paint a house! Vyvanse naturally curves your appetite, so that will cancel out the Celexa making me gain weight (if that happens). The good thing about Vyvanse is that it's a smoother ride. You don't get a crash in the mid-afternoon like you would on Adderall. I would highly recommend Vyvanse to anyone that is worried about weight gain.
For those of you who are falling asleep during the day, take the Wellbutrin at night. I have for the past year and it helps me sleep. I've been taking the Celexa at night at the same time, so I haven't noticed not being able to sleep.
I have to agree, managing and working through trying to find the right meds is a pain in the butt!
how did u do on the celexa wellbutrin and adderall combo?? i currently am on adderall xr and celexa 60mg and would like to add welbutrin to augment. would vyvanse be a better choice?? the xr adderall doesnt have the long effect for me..the ir stops suddenly. would like to get some feedback...thanks

shortly after my ex went on wellbutrin and celexa, she started feeling so good, that she lost all sense of morality. 6 other relationships and $100K in credit card debt. Like I saie "EX"!
It's too bad your EX didn't have follow up. It sounds as though she went into mania.

I have been taking 300mg Wellbutrin for a while. It always works well for me without any side effects other than the complete loss of appetite and stomach pain. I stopped taking it cold turkey and when I resumed after about 5 days, it didn't seem to work. My doctor prescribed Citalopram. I took it in the morning and it made me groggy all day. I take it in the evening and it seems to give me insomnia. It helped with the depression a little but it also makes me extremely anxious, which ended up making me depressed as well. I've only been taking it for about a week and I've decided to stop because the anxiety is so extreme.

That's why I was looking for this info: I've been on Celexa for over 2 years. Started at the lowest dose b/c I tend to be allergic/reactive to most drugs. I'm now at the highest dose my Dr. can prescribe(60mgs) and last month, she added Wellbutrin to the mix. It's been 3&1/2 weeks and mostly, I've had gut pains, constipation and insomnia (which I had before and was one of the reasons I began taking the Celexa). My pharmacist told me to assess it after the wash-in period (4-6 weeks before you'll notice a difference, says she). That's all I can report but I'll update in a few weeks.

In the meantime, I'm trying to find out if anyone has any tips for the wicked constipation/gut cramps I'm experiencing (aside from the usual common sense responses)from the Wellbutrin....??!!

Hi,
I have been on Celexa since May 2005. I was making slow but steady progress on Celexa 40 mg/day until about three weeks ago when I started to regress and those old bad feelings started to close in on me again.
I had a consultation with a psychiatrist yesterday (a one-time visit for an assessment, ordered by my family doctor). The psych suggested I should maintain the Celexa at 40 mg/day and add Wellbutrin 150 mg/day to try to boost me out of my regression and into feeling better again. I will be seeing my doctor next month and he will decide whether to implement the psych's suggestions.
Has anyone specifically taken Celexa together with Wellbutrin? Did the two together make you feel substantially better and did you continue with the two or gradually replace the Celexa with Wellbutrin? Or did the doc just keep tinkering with the dosage of each drug as your condition changed?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Your happiness or the husband's gratification? As far as I know Wellbutrin is one of the superstars for 2 reasons: it does not affect the libido (as much as other drugs) AND it had the side-effect of making patients want to smoke less (hence it's re-packaging as "Zyban," a smoking cessation drug). It was part of the first generation of the anti-depressant arsenal, however, and it was widely reviewed as giving people nightmares, dizziness, general weirdness, etc. Fortunately, the pharma co. discovered it helped people stop smoking (there's a side effect you want, I guess). And now it would seem they're trying to combine it with other drugs, like Celexa, to make it more effective. It hasn't done jack for my nicotine addiction, but I'm only 3&1/2 weeks in.

For those of you who have tried wellbrutin did any of you have A.D.D. like I have?
Did it work on the a.d.d.?Or would you suggest taking concerta along with another med?
I have the lethargy, mentally and physically and my a.d.d. mkes it very hard to stay in the moment so I have a lot of trouble getting focused, making decisions and getting started in any direction.
Would wellbrutin help this?

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Capricorn

You're in a very generous and kind frame of mind today, and you'll go out of your way to help others if you think they need it. You might donate some money to a good cause or decide that charity begins at home. If you're buying gifts for some of your loved ones it will be difficult to know when to stop, because you could easily get carried away.
