Aren't you sooo tired? I take it at night and can't get up in the morning as if I took a sleeping aid. I've been awake today for 4 hrs now and can't shake this yawn and my eyes want to close so badly. Its only been 2 days but I really can only think about going home to sleep!! Don't even feel like working out which is part of my daily routine. I'm 28/f and should be out doing so many active things. I'm taking 20mg for anxiety and I think it may be too much to handle. I need help!!

Im on 60mg of citalopram, started on 20 mg 4 months ago and it was great at first as i was happy and relaxed, and noticed i wanted to spend more money than i usually do. Also it makes me feel NUMB, lack of emotion and most imortantly the fatigue is defineitly affecting me. I also feel like Im spaced out sort of a dizziness feeling and in a zone. I must say it does relax me but in contrast makes me very tired and SPACED OUT.

I started on Celexa a couple of months ago 20mg. At first my Dr told me to take it during the day and i was falling asleep at my desk. Now they changed me to 40mg and i take it at bed time. What a difference. But i have days where i still get really tired during the day but my anxiety is so much better. Coffee does not even effect me anymore. I wake up ready and awake but by mid afternoon im ready for a nap.

I've had the same experience. I've lost 10 lbs in about 3 weeks on celexa. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat and I feel nauseated.

The reason why it decreases your appetite is that while it's an SSRI, it is the same drug that they often use for people with binge-eating disorder.

About what time during the night do you take this drug? |
||||
What kind of differences have you noticed between the 20mg and the 40mg of Celexa? |
||||
How's your appetite reacting to the 60mg dose? Are you more tired with the higher dose or about the same as with the 20mg of Celexa? |
||||
|
Does anyone know why Celexa makes you lose your appetite? And lose weight?

Today I've just started taking Escitalopram oxalate (enantiomer of citalopram)-- only starting with 5mg, half the recommended dose of 10mg -- for anxiety. I took the first dose late morning (as soon as I got home from GP and chemist) and within half and hour felt mild nausea and had a nap for 1-2 hours. On waking, I felt good and made myself a strong coffee (as I usually do). Half an hour later I experienced an increasing feeling of unease and bodily tension. No cognitive anxiety, but bodily anxiety similar to having too many coffees. I became very hyper and didn't know if it was the drug or the coffee. I have to work tomorrow, but I now cannot sleep and it is almost 2am. So, I got up and googled escitalopram and cafeine. Some seem to say that they adjust to the drug over time and can then drink coffee with no adverse affects, while others say it makes them hyper. Do SSRI's affect the absorbtion or re-uptake of cafeine?(Excuse my lack of knowledge of bio-chemistry!)

Celexa has been working great for me. I was on Zoloft for 8 years and it just didn't seem to work anymore but I think I may have been hurting myself. I was hooked on No Doze for 4 years and I actually got up to 3 of those caffeine pills a day before they totally wore my body out. I have anxiety disorder and the Zoloft always worked but it seems like the longer I took it with the help of the caffiene counter acting it, it just stopped. Celexa is awesome I have been taking it for three weeks and it is great. It did make me tired at first but that was perfect for me because sleep is very important to me. I wouldn't recommend taking caffeine pills to anyone because your body gets used to taking them and then you take more and more. You feel great but finally it catches up with you and I actually think it affected my Zoloft in a negitave way. Just hang in there drink your coffee in moderation and give Celexa time to work.

Hey Jay,
How long before the fatigue wore off...for the most part? How much do you take and when? Sleep is very important to me as well and EVERYTHING affects it.
