Hi Catherine I am really sad to hear that you're feeling so bad. You are so young to be feeling this way. Are you living with your parents? You need to get help from an adult - if there is no-one you can talk to in your immediate circle then please phone the Samaritains and TALK. I don't know your circumstances and what has brought on these awful symptoms but you must remain calm and don't do anything silly like taking your life. We all go through phases in our lives when things get too much but there is always hope and help. You must ASK for help. Don't assume you will get it from professionals without asking. I suggest you don't take the citalopram again without further supervision and advice. This drug can sometimes produce strange effects in young people. You must not drink alcohol with theis type of medicine. Have you been using recreational drugs? Please don't use these as any mental health issues that you have will be made much worse. I am taking citalopram and have been for a year now. I have a history of anxiety so I can share your feeling. I know it's awful ut I have had counselling and it will help you. You need to go to your GP with someone and ASK. I am a Yorkshire lass too but sadly a lot older than you. Please get in touch again tomorrow and we can talk. Love Heather xx |

Cartherine!Get to a therapist if you haven't already.True it could be other things causing the hallucinations but it could be the drug.I was on prozac and it made me halucinate. Not to the extent that this drug has you but it vwas very frightening.I had repeated anxiety attacks and it resulted in me having a nervous breakdown.I don't want to scare you.It doesn't mean that'll happen to you.But see a therapist or a crisis team as soon as possible.Take one day at a time and with the right help you make it through this. That's how I got through it.Don't give up.I'm trying to be careful what I say here because I'm not a doctor.I know that it seems like the end of the world but 'IT JUST SEEMS THAT WAY'OK.Take care and i wish you the best of luck. Mike from Canada! |
