I started citalopram 7 days ago. 20mg. I have never taken perscriptions of any sort before. I do smoke marijuana daily, a puff or two in the morning and then at night, generally no more but stopped the pot to try these meds. I don't like the meds and want to quit now cold turkey. It's only been 7 days so I thought it wouldn't be bad with the side effects that I've read may happen. I have experienced nausea, a bit of diahrea, tiredness and loss of appetite. I felt on the second day a burst of energy but mostly feel tired now. My doc eagerly perscribed them to me even after I told him I didn't want to take any meds. I broke down and thought I'd try. Since then I've been researching alternatives. I'd rather feel the ups and downs I guess than the flatness I've been feeling the last few days.
I take Ritalin and Celexa, I also smoke marijuana daily. When I don't smoke marijuana I find that I have a lot of the same side effects your experiencing. I would suggest smoking marijuana again, it will should help with the nausea, which may alleviate some of your other side effects. It may not be recognized for its medical benefits by the majority of the populace, but it definitely has proven to help people with a variety of different conditions.

I started on celexa three days ago, I feel tired and a little nausea, but if I can lose weight it will be worth putting up with some of the side effects, I know what you mean about the yawning, I had it while taking effexor. Good luck with the celexa...

I have been on Celexa for about a month now and I have lost about 10 lbs. I have absolutely no appetite at all. The only reason I eat is to keep from getting a headache. Alot of people say that they have gained weight but that is not the case for me. I have lots of energy, I have lost weight, and overall I feel great!
I just started on this new drug two days ago and have already noticed a decrease in appetite tremendously. I have to think about eating if I don't I won't. That is a great feeling not to be hungry all the time which I think part of that is linked to my depression. I also have noticed I have more energy and want to get up a take a 30 min. brisk walk. I have not excercised in so long, but it felt good to get up and move around.

Never done this before, but my fear brought me here. Thanks to all of you who have cited your weight loss. I have been on only 10 mg of citalopram for almost a month, now switched to 20mg, and have been losing weight that I don't really need to lose. I have been on the internet looking up cancers and blood disorders and weight loss, so am so thankful that I found this site to hear that others have lost weight while on citalopram. Maybe that's all it is. It hasn't seemed to affect my mood yet, though. Don't have as much energy as I used to.

You'll find that it makes you tired, have you changed your eating or is it the same and you are losing weight.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Aries

You're feeling practical and sensible today, so it's great for getting on with some of the Christmas preparations. The idea of saving money appeals to you now, and if you're browsing around the supermarket looking for festive food you might be so horrified by some of the prices that you decide to make your own instead. This will give you a real feeling of satisfaction.
