I just started 10 mg 4 days ago supposed to go to 20 mg but I'm scared, I get anxiety thinking about taking any meds. I don't like that feeling, hopefully it will get better

I was started on 20 mg about 2months ago everything seemed to be working fine but now i am starting to fall back into my old ways, so last night i took two of my tablets uping the dosage to 40 mg without realising i had already taken one that day i am experiencing a few side effects such as hot/cold and skin irritation and burning across my chest. does anyone know if it was dangerous to do so and any advice on other medication that could work?

My son is 15 and is adhd. He has some depression and agression issues. The doctor suggested 10 mg. along wiht vyanse. I am worried about giving it to him, but want the help. Should only start him off at 5mg.? Should he only take it at night? Advice would be appreciated.

Hi everyone, very worried! I am a nurse and my husband has been prescribed this drug after suffering depression from losing his job.I have noticed he has suffered from weight loss insomnia, heart racing and effects of paranoia and delusions. Some kind of breakdown has occurred this week and he is now worse than before.Acting totally out of character as if on speed. Have emergency appointment to see psychiatrist tomorrow. He is taking 20mg I have advised him to take 10mg until we know how safe it is and the routine to come off this drug. More info when I have drilled the GP. Just want my husband back.

Hi Everyone,

Over the past year I have been on 10 and 20mg of Citalopram, before I started taking the medication I was in serious trouble, I was depressed and had psychotic episodes. Since taking the medication I feel so much better I don't get so down anymore, things get though but seem to stay in perspective. Things don't overwhelm me anymore I seem to be able to take positive action. I am also on risperdal which is an antipshychotic maybe it is the combo but i am feeling so much better. My Doctor has me taking Citalopram in the morning because it can cause sleep disturbance. The only noticable side effect has been disiness at times from the Citalopram supose i'm lucky oh except there has been a huge drop in sex drive suppose i'm not so lucky after all...

Hi,

It is sad to hear things are not going so well, I am on Citalopram and to be honest It doesn't sound like the Citalopram is the drug causing the symptoms/problems... x

I do not feel that I need medication but am being pressured by my disability plan. I have been given a prescription for 20 mg of citlaopram daily.

I have been working out, improving my diet, taking time away from my stressful job, learning to relax, etc.. I am so much better!

I am not wanting to regress and after reading what horrible things people have experienced I REALLY don't want to take this crap!

My 16 year old daughter started almost three weeks ago on cyptalopram. 10 mg. Things seemed like they were improving but it seems like there is now a setback - still anxious and nervous. She has missed so much school. We go back to doc. tomorrow. Seems like it may increase to 20. These drugs make me nervous and so far we have not seen the benefit.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Libra

Don't try to do too much at once today or you'll disappear up you know what! You're all fingers and thumbs, accident-prone and things start breaking. It won't help if you're trying to concentrate at work and a certain chatterbox doesn't know when to shut up. Ask them to be quiet but try not to sound shrewish.
