I'm a 30 year old strong and healthy man. I do have weak morning erections from time to time.
My life problem had always been 'premature ejaculation' until I got into a more serious problem:'ED' During the last 5 years, I've been suffering from an inability to obtain and maintain an erection. But that's not all, I have tried VIAGRA & LEVITRA & CIALIS but have ended up with the side effects rather than the purpose of these drugs: The pill gives me an erection within 30 minutes BUT accompanied by an unbearable headache, red watery eyes, red ears, red face, red watery nose, and a difficulty to breathe. Now can you you perform any sexual activity if you can't breathe and your eyes are red and tears running from them. I'm completely helpless and looking for a solution. I'm financially comfortable, so money is no problem. What do you guys recommend I do? (please don't tell me to consult with my doctor, because on this forum I would like to hear some relevant personal experiences) I have read a lot about Caverject and Muse and I'm not encouraged at all because: Caverject: - I'd have to insert a needle in my own penis! When at the hospital taking a blood test, I always look away to avoid fainting. - The needle does cause some bleeding and bruising. - The needle might cause very serious life threatening problems if administered incorrectly. - Increased risk of contracting an STD mostly HIV. - Knowing my wife, any talk of any needle is already the ultimate turn off for her. - It has to be refrigerated at all times killing all the sex trips. - It has to be refrigerated at all times killing any possible spontaneity. Muse: - I actually fainted reading how it is administered.(this is real horror for me that caverject seems more realistic) - The female performing fellatio will get a burning sensation her mouth. - The female will also have a burning sensation in her vagina. - It has to be refrigerated at all times killing all the sex trips. - It has to be refrigerated at all times killing any possible spontaneity. --- |

To "Niceonehere", I've been using Caverject for many years with good success. I use ultrafine insulin needles to administer and you can barely feel them enter the side of the penis. And with 5/16" length, you'd be hard pressed to insert too deeply. Dispel your hangups on the needle. You will not reuse the needles and will have no higher likelihood of HIV infection than anyone else!(Unless your sexual lifestyle is a high-risk one anyway). So I suggest you relax and start to enjoy sex again. The refrigeration aspects have been overblown in your mind. I frequently keep half of my solution for subsequent episodes days to a week later and have not noticed any drop in potency (whether or not I refrigerated it for that duration). I hope this helps, because there is a lot of misinformation out there, obviously. Let your wife know the score! If she won't work with you (spontaneity isn't everything in a loving relationship), then shame on her. And, by the way, some find that the success they have allows them to go on subsequently without the Caverject because of their new-found confidence. Best wishes!

Niceonhere,
If you are married use caverject! If you are not you should abstain |

I just now notiticed that this therad is 2 years old, but I'm going to post this anyway, in case it helps someone.
I know you don't want to hear "see your doctor", but it very well could save your life. Possibly as important as treating ED (a symptom), is discovering the cause. ED doesn't just happen, it's there as a symptom of another cause. Has that been established as of yet? Are you on blood pressure medicines? Have you had a PSA drawn, digital rectal exam, and been screened for prostate cancer? Good health is as important as good sex. Ok, off my soapbox now. If you go the Muse insert route, be sure to wear a condom, especially if your wife becomes pregnant. I've had patients who did the injection route, and some the insert route, both with pretty good measures of success. Some guys have success with a pump. Now that this thread is 2 years old, I'm curious as to what route you ended up going with? Best wishes, Christopher(an RN whose primary patient population is guys with ED) |

Prostrate operation two years ago...vigra and others no help...with muse, not erect enough...Now with needle...where is best to insert. Towards the head or base?
Can I put 1/2 on one side and the other 1/2 of doseage on the other...will this give a better erection? Or all the dosage on one side? Dan |

Down at the base. I'm right-handed, so Doc instructed me to stretch out the penis with right hand, use left hand to stretch the skin tight on left side at the base. Keep that stretch while letting go with right hand. Insert needle where there's no obvious capillary/vein (slight 'ouch' only in outer skin, not inside). Inject. Remove. Light pressure on injection site with swab, etc., so no bleeding occurs. Bruising will be nil, and is not good for the body anywhere. Cool stuff. Haven't yet tried the Muse tabs. |
