Caverject is backordered - where can I get a kit?

I am trying to find a caverject kit for my boss. I have called at least 50 pharmacies and no one has one. There is a problem with the manufacturer, but no update on when it will be released. Is there a generic that is easier to obtain? Does anyone have a safe source to get this? My boss has a prescription.
For the record, I am not a beneficiary of the product, I'm just a dedicated admin.

Caverject has been on backorder for 2 or 3 months now. Pfizer (1-800-438-19850 has no idea when they are going to manufacture it again.
Find something else for him.

I just called Pfizer and they do not have any information that this product has been dincontinued. They have a new release date of May 08, but no specifics on why the backorder.

Trying to work with both my pharmicist and doctor to find the version that doesn't come as the "impulse kit". When I first started using Caverject,(back in 1997) that is how it came, the vial of powder, the syringe, the sterile h2o solution and alcohol pads...hopefully this will still be available...I don't mind mixing as it is what I used to do. Just don't want to miss out on any greta sex due to a "manufacturer backorder"!

I just called. Caverject IMPULSE has been moved to April 2009.

Caverject in the VIALS are still available. Just get your own needles and sterile water.

I called Pfizer 23 June '08 and was told that Caverject Impulse has been discontinued !!!?? Was told to contact my Dr. for more info!!???

How do these people stay in business?

I called the manufacturer on June 24th, and spoke with a pharmacist. The FDA is requiring Pfizer to update the inserts included with this product. Unfortunately Pfizer has set the re-release date to July 2009. This will give them time to rework the packaging.

I liked Caverject for traveling, because its so easy to mix and use. And does not require refrigeration. However it is expensive. At home I just use Tri-Mix, which seems to still be available.

Confirmed July 2009 date. Person said caverject powder still available by prescription but need 1 ML of diluent water or sterile water. People should call Pfizer to register your complaint with a 1+ year delay!!!
