my daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 7 she is now 11 going on 12. she is no tegretol slow release 200mg morn 200mg night. i have noticed that she has been having a lot more seizures of late. her seizures have been put down to childhood epilepsy and they usually happen at night, she has all sorts of seizures yelling out, wondering, dropping to the floor, face drops etc. i was wondering if anyone could fill me in if they think that it might be he medications to low?(blood levels are normal) and meds have only been increased 4 months ago or if it might be her hormones as she enters beeing a teenager. if anny one out there has a child arund same age. feel free to emali me.

hi
I have a seizure disorder and have granmal seizures and have recently been switched from dilantin to tegratol BUT as of about 5 mos, ago I have some pretty serious things going on that are the exact things that are listed as side effects of this drug.
Ringing ears (constant)
soreness
serious memory loss
almost a general euphoria (pot like)
a general unsteady ness no balance.
other things that i,m trying to get the doctors to listen to me about.
I am afraid of this stuff as when I start taking it and then I tell a doctor they will just say it is the meds>
I had three in one day for the first time and have not been the same since and now they are saying not to go back to work either and I,m very stressed out .
any one take this stuff ? any one take meds and still have seizures? please respond .
they act like i,m lying when I have told them I was on full meds and had seizures.
I,m trying to find some balance here.

Keep notes of when you are experiencing these side effects. What triggers them?(fatigue, period, stress, change is drug dosage) Bottom line: if your doctor(s) don't believe you, dump them and get a better doctor.

I take 1000mg in the morning and 1000mg at night. I seem to get memory loss and blurred vision I did use to take 1200mg morning and 1200mg at night. I still have seizure (1-2 or sometimes 8-12) throughout the day every 3-4 days. I went to see another doctor and they told me the daily allowance is 1200mg and I’m taking 2000mg. I am at university and sometime find it hard to concentrate or have a lecturer one day and completely forget it the following day. I’m not too sure what to do from here.

I take one 200 mg at night and feel pretty
good during the day....wake up really sleepy.

i was taking prozac and stopped and it was making me feel tired , memory loss and concentration.

with the tegretol 200 mg at night I do not notice too much side effects.......maybe a little memory problem but I had that before now.......wondering how I would feel if I stoped althougether, they said I should not stop as I am bi-polar......but I am not bi-polar today..( or no episodes)...it only happens with major drama in my life....... doc says less likely if I stay on the drug......I could not imagine taking 1200 mg a day.........wow I would be a zombee for sure!!

Sometimes I feel like a zombee. In the morning my eyes go a little crockeyed so I have to close them for several minuets to fix the problem. I use to take prozac but I found these tablets helped with that (making me feel like a zombee).

When I was on 600mg in the morning and 600mg at night I used to have the shaky fits so had to up a little more.

But I am changing my medication to zonisamide. I was going to go on trial and try some new other tablets but my doctor said for me to try these first.

I would like to have a talk to people about this medication and epilepsy because I dont know anybody else who suffers from this.

If you like to talk by email, my email is noddle3636@hotmail.com

Thanks

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Sagittarius

Moodiness is never far away today, making you over-react to problems and giving you a tendency to take out your feelings on your nearest and dearest. If someone asks you what's really wrong, you'll struggle to explain and may even have to give up because you can't put it into words. It's like an itch that you can't scratch, and you don't know where it stems from or what it means.
