I haven't read this, but the first thoughts that strike me when reading the title is...
Doesn't autistics have a higher incidence of epilepsy?
Isn't autism quite often considered to be heritagable?

Dec. 1, 2008 -- Women who take the epilepsy drug valproate while pregnant may increase their child's risk of autism , a new study shows.
