Buspar to INCREASE sexdrive?

has anyone been put on buspar to increase the sex drive?
ive been battling depression, ocd and anxiety for some time now. im currently on celexa (40mg) right now for my issues (ive been on lexapro but my insurance doesnt cover it so i got put on celexa) but it KILLED my sex drive and has made me emotionally numb in a lot of ways (which is causing more anxiety because im not FEELING stuff). my doc prescribed buspar for me to bring back my sexdrive.(due to my epilepsy, i cant be on wellbutrin) its been a week and a half and if anything im MORE anxious...like none of the meds are working. im having obsessive thoughts and am in a state of mental panic all day and i cant even say what im panicing about.
does anyone have any input on this...and will the buspar increase my sexdrive (my husband is understanding, yet frustrated...) im frustrated and sad and nobody is winning on the path im on. help!

BuSpar can reverse SSRI induced decreased libido. It can also take 1-3 weeks before you even start getting the full effects of Buspar.

If your concerns are that serious and the anxiety is that bad I recommend calling your Doctor. In many cases a Benzo is given for the first week or so for the purpose of holding you over until the Buspar kicks in.

thanks...im going to hang in there. i feel better today. i hate being on these meds but its pretty bad being off of them. you just never know how these 'cocktails' of multiple drugs will affect you. and doctors arent too forthcoming with info either. i appreciate your response.

yes it will bring up your sexdrive! I started taking it last year sometime in the spring.I just knew my sexdrive was up and I didn't know it was from buspar.So thanks to this forum I finally found out what was causing my increased sexdrive.

i have been taking altenonol for my blood pressure and paxil for panic disorder, the paxil wasent working and the atenonol made me impotent, when i started the buspar almost instantly my sex drive has gone through roof amd the overpowering the atenonol, the only problem ive had with the buspar is it makes me incredibaly dizzy ive been on it a week and my doc tells me it will go away, but for me overall its a wonder drug :)

Heck ya buspar has upped my sex drive! I am 41 and my wife is 37. She is hitting her sexual prime and was after me quite a bit (not that I am complaining ) but my drive was not as high as it use to be. Then my docter put me on buspar for GAD
15 mg daily for a month then upped to 30 mg daily. Suddenly my libido is like it was in my twenties. We are both very happy now, and my anxiety has improved quite a bit(I feel calmer). I was also depressed and that seems to be gone as well. I only take xanax when needed and that has become very rare. So far I love the buspar!

My wife just got prescribed this stuff today because she's been battling anxiety and ever since she was put on Prozac she's had no sex drive (its been over 2 months!!!). We are both in our early 20's and as a mid twenty something year old i'm sure you can all understand that this is a little bit of an issue. I just hope to God it works...

I was wondering why my sex drive went sky high - it is Buspar. I was on the net trying to figure this out and here I found I am not the only one :).

Yup, me too! Just started regular intake of Buspar a few days ago (I used to take it once a month at most for PMS). Well for anxiety my dr. put me on three 15mg a day= 45mg per day total. I was wondering what was up too, cause normally my husband annoys me but today I am like...hmm what is this feeling of me wanting HIM??? lol!! The buspar must make women horny. I feel a bit euphoric actually and I am quitting Wellbutrin, so I should feel like crap but I feel great!

My husband is taking 30 mg a day, 1/2 tab in am and 1/2 tab. in pm. He missed his dose last night and this morning and then decided to take the whole 30 mg tab tonight. I'm concerned that maybe he shouldn't have done that as he was drowsy 45 min. after taking it. Now i'm up late surging the internet looking for max doses at one time and watching him breathe. Should i be concerned or sleep?

i m mostly impotent but i started taking buspar y'day. i m hypertensive wiyh high cholesterol and a herniated disc at age 33..

i m waiting to see when it touches the ceiling,lol if not go thru the roof, yeah!
