Anyone who has experienced issues comming off Buspar , Please tell me your story! I did not do well on this drug for the 1 month that I was on it , I had major side effects, and even to this day 21 Days off Im still fighting it. I am on no other Meds and this was the first time for me on any such drug... I guess Im super sesative to meds... I have found others who have encounter similar issues as I have too. The reason I decided to try Buspar was that it was non addictive(Physicaly that is) and no WD. Perhaps I beacme mentally addictive to it???

i have also had issues coming off of buspar. I was on it for one month, and was taking a small dose, 5 mg a day. I had bad side effects, so I stopped taking it, and I had my first ever panic attack the next day, and have had 2 more since then. I have also had a terrible headache that will not go away and stiffness in my neck. it has been 7 days, and I am still feeling the effects. I spoke to my doctor who said to give it another week, but I am miserable.

I took buspar for 8 days and was so dizzy I could barely stand. Now since going off of it I have been having panic attacks (which I did not have before starting it) and severe insomnia. I am off 6 days not and hope there is an end it sight.

I started taking it seven weeks ago. Taking the drug at 40mg per day caused me to write and my shoulder to jerk back. Stopping it is making me feel nauseated, and I had the feeling that I didn't know who I am at all.

I have now been off for about 20 days and I am still experiencing vision problems and panicky feelings throughout the day and night. Anyone else having problems with vision? It is almost like my eyes have a delayed responce when shifting focus between two objects. I am not taking any meds right now and just trying to work through things as best as I can.

I have been taking buspar for about four months. At first it helped my anxiety, but now I have more problems with it than benefits and want to go off it. My NP told me a while ago that going off it involved tapering the dose off over a month, so I'm scared to try. After reading these I'm more scared! But even though it's supposedly not dependence-causing, I think that must be wrong, I definitely feel it when it is wearing off and want more, like any addiction.

I was wondering how long each one of you was on buspar??

I was on it for four months and a few days ago I decided to stop taking it. I am having a little bit of vision problems, I can't sleep as well, headaches, lights look a little funny, and a few other effects.

I only took for 8 days. the side effects were very bad for me and it has been over a month now since I stopped taking it and I still have vision problems and my anxiety is worse now since I took it. I also had headaches, but they now have gone away. This was the worse med I have ever taken!!!

I had the worst experience ever on this. I was on it for 40 days, 20mg per day, for anxiety, and it did help for the first two weeks. then all hell broke loose, it caused me to be in crazy panic mode, afraid to be alone, agoraphobic, depressed, and major head throbbing and neck pain. i decided to take myself off it. that was one week ago. I feel much better. Almost all the bizarre side effects are gone. talk to your doctor before just going cold turkey. Go to askapatient.com and check out all the comments from people having the same experiences. That helped me confirm that it was the buspar causing my problems. good luck.

Wow, I thought I was going really crazy, but it turns out it's the Buspirone. I've had terrible headaches, nausea, no appetite, sleeping all the time, apathy, increased anxiety, agoraphobia, dissociation, dizziness, and vision problems. It's such a relief knowing that these are medicinal side effects and not 'me.' Do these go away, or should I cut my losses and stop now?

I hate the stuff (Buspar)!! I've been on it for about six weeks and I'm going to start cutting it tonight! I'm taking 15mg a day, 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at night. I am constantly sick to my stomach, can't eat, my body just feels ansie all the time. I did read some where that taking Benadry help with the withdrawal symptoms. I tried Buspar once before and it did the same thing to me so never again. I was glad to see that some others are experiencing the same thing, at least I know I'm not going crazy!

If you have not already done so yet a new doctor and make withdrawal the focus. You have been mismanaged as have I with klonopin. These are meant for short-term use. Gradual tapering is the key, but do it under a competant doctor.

I have been on buspar for over a year now. Although it has not helped in preventing anxiety, I found that it has all but stopped the panic attacks I was having. I do have some mild vision disturbances, but this pales in comparison to the benefits of not living with panic attacks all the time.

I have been taking buspar for one month, I take 15 mg 3 x day. At first it seemed to be helping my anxiety, but now I am experiencing ALL the negative side effects clinically listed. After reading this I am sadly glad to find out that I am not alone. I am unable to work and find it harder and harder to get through the day. I am also taken luvox for depression and both are bombarding me with side effects to the point where I feel like I do not want to live any more. After reading these testimonies I now know that I have to get off of these drugs. My prayers for all of you...and thank you for your prayers for me.

To Victoria - for most medications you slowly reduce the dosage over a period of time. This medication made me have insomnia, unable to eat, severe headaches, racing thoughts, etc. I wanted off quickly and took half dose for about a week them stopped. It then took me about 3 months to get my sleep pattern back to normal and about 6 months to feel normal as the side effects made me feel crazy and lost confidence in myself. A regular routine of outdoor exercise (30 min a day) makes me feel great now.

Had all the side effects everyone is mentioning also "burning" "heat in body"....anyone have that ? I still have that and I'm hoping that is has something to do with serontonin and will pass soon
