The conclusion by the Chico Police is wrong. This is not the Nick we all knew. Please tell the truth as some of you know what REALLY happened.

Was Nick upset about a relationship? Any recent break-ups? People take those things hard. I believe Michael Phelps adventure with the Bong was after/over some young woman. As they say, Love Hurts, but life goes on and then you laugh about it all later. I wish this Nick better understoof that. Very sad! If it was over a woman, the young lady should not feel guilty.

Kids are getting high these days on Benadryl (Google "get high on Benadryl"). A lethal dose of rubbing alcohol is 8 ounces. Used in conjunction they are supposed to be an extreme high and very dangerous. Were the kids at this party getting high? Rumor has it they were. Was this intentional or a very sad accident? Kids the truth must come out. Parents talk to your kids about drugs and suicide. This must not happen again.

I don't buy it at all. Nick wouldn't have committed suicide...he just wouldn't have. Even those who didn't know him well can tell you he wouldn't do that to himself, family or friends.

You are implying that you know something that law enforcement does not. If this is true then you must come forward with any information you have. You don't have to tell them your name. Call the non emergency number eight nine five four nine one one and there is no caller ID. Please, you owe it to the family.

FYI: The investigation didn't look at the computers, didn't look at the cell phone, didn't talk to the parents, didn't lock down the room to gather evidence, didn't shut down the party that night until after dawn. Didn’t establish a time line for the deceased that night. Didn't consider inconsistencies in stories of witnesses. Didn’t consider that certain kids knew what the deceased died of before the report was made public today.

What happened to that idea of having a forum with the students there to answer parent questions? Is it too difficult for a school district to face possible embarrassing answers? What's more important than our kids' safety?

You think the PD should have treated it like a murder investigation?

Yes because the PD did not initially know what they were dealing with and too much evidence was tampered with to determine anything. The suicide thinking came later.

why does this information even have to be made public let alone on the front page? Does this family not deserve some privacy?

He was an athlete and may have just gotten too stressed out... last year in high school... reality check... it is sad, but with the mixture he took, it seems intentional. Unfortunate, yet intentional. Maybe the stress was just too much. it happens. Very very sad though. Poor family.

He died at the hospital. Fire and EMS, and his parents were all over that house. And the suicide revelation has been present since the very beginning.

I just learned that a 16-year-old girl hung herself today in Chico. I hope this isn't over Nick,s death.
How very tragic for these families and the young.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and Nick's friends. Nick may have been in a good mood the day prior to his death. It isn't uncommon for people who are contemplating suicide to show a sudden increase in their level of happiness. Some people feel a sense of peace once they make the decision to end their life. I am not convinced this was the case for Nick, if he had been drinking perhaps he wasn't thinking clearly and took to much of these substances, which turned out to be a lethal combination. Parents talk openly with your children, this can be hard in the adolescent years, however if you are able to listen without passing judgement, you'll find that your teens are more willing to open up about what they are feeling.

For Christs sake, it was an overdose! Poor kid is under age, so tries to get drunk on common household items.

Complete idiots at Chico PD. Sounds like they were too busy with their countless "bomb scares" to do some true investigating. Enjoy those over inflated salaries + overtime piggies!

Sounds like you know some inside details about all of this, especially since your posts says you're in Sacramento. Interesting......

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Capricorn

Take things slowly and all will be well. However, you must resist a tendency to be perfectionist over things that don't really matter, otherwise you'll never finish the chores. If you're busy with Christmas preparations, you'll have to control a nagging feeling that you've got to compete with the way other people have done things in the past.
