Durasteride - Please help, Trying to Conceive

Hi All,

Hope you can help. I've been search the net trying to find out how long i need to stop taking Durasteride before my wife an I can try for a child.

There seems to be lots of info. for finasteride but not durasteride. Apparently the half life is longer??

I can't exactly give a precise answer, because I'm not a doctor. But the half life on Dutasteride is 5 weeks. So on the safe side I would say somewhere around 6 to 8 weeks out.

The only precaution listed for Avodart is that women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use Avodart, and should not even touch the capsules. However, there is no restriction for the male to stop using Avodart before attempting pregnancy. The only resrtiction for males using Avodart is not to donate blood

This concentration is more than 100 times less than concentrations producing abnormalities of male genitalia in animal studies. Dutasteride is highly protein bound in human semen (>96%), which may reduce the amount of dutasteride available for vaginal absorption.”

idiot Michelle, you don't even know what half life is, pharmacokinetics, while you know you are not a doctor, but you are idiot enough to say somewhere around 6 to 8 weeks out is safe
