Avodart and dizziness

I started taking Avodart about six months ago. Since that time I have been fighting dizziness upon standing or after working on the computer or watching a movie. It gets so bad at times that I have difficulty talking and cannot walk without stumbling. It goes away when I sit or lay down. I take a number of blood pressure medications, but never had the problem with them until I began taking Avodart. Has anyone else had symptoms like this?

I have the same dizziness problem taking Avodart.
Very tired at times abd light headed. Also I have hives on my skin particulary the legs taking this medication for bph.

I started Avodart 11-14-07 for BPH. No symptom problems beyond those mentioned with the prescription ever occurred until 7-15-09. (Year and a half) For the past 10 days I have had dizziness when getting up or rolling around during floor exercise. The dizziness subsides when I remain standing up or laying down.

Yes Jim I had the very same side effect. I almost passed out at work while I was standing. Awful stuff!!

I started taking flomax and advodart about four months ago but for different reasons them most of you.I was peeing blood al of a sudden and it scared the hell out of me. I'm not talking little pink drops , I mean heavy bright red blood like red wine.My urologist did a test putting a thin line with a scope through my penis. The only thing he could see was a small blood vessel right in front of my urether. After two weeks on both I almost passed out at work while just turning around and even once while I was driving home. I called my urologist and he said to stop the flomax, but to stay on the advodart for at least three months I did for exactly three months and went back. The bleeding stopped after the first three or four weeks but the idea was to shrink the blood vessel. At three months I could not stand all the side effects from the advodart.
Leg pain evry night sore and itchy nipples plus enlargment of the breast. Shoulder pain and finally heavy chest pains. That did it for me. But guess what? This morning my little friend started bleeding all over again. Man talk about being in shock!! Today is Sunday so first thing to morrow I have to call him. He said if the pills didn't work he could do a ten minute out patient procedure by coderising (spelling) it.
I'll take that over advodart any day. I'm 67 yrs old and work hard every day and exercise.
If anyone else has had this bleeding will you let me know?

After six weeks on Avodart dizziness started and continued to get worse. At one point I was ready to call 911 and go to the hospital. It was especially bad when I got down on the floor and tried to do sit-ups or crunches. Dizziness also occurred when I moved to a sitting position on the floor. If a remained in one position for a few seconds it would leave only to come back when I moved again. The Avodart also caused me to stumble sometimes and I was more tired than normal with scratchy eyes. I stopped taking the Avodart and noticed improvment within one day and after 5 days the dizziness has almost disapeared.

I've been on Avodart for a week and almost passed out three or four times. This occurred after climbing one or two flights of stairs. Not running up, just walking! I'm surprized that it isn't listed as a side effect so I Goggled it and found this site.

Don @ Jeff,
I hope you bothe told your Doctor about this. i called mine and he said to stop it right away. I consider this a dangerous drug. I felt better right after i stio and also stop the Advodart about 6 months later because of the awful side effects. I feel like myself again and will never go back on either one.If the Doctors want to get a kick back from the drug companies they can get it from someone else. I'm NOT going to contibute to there expensive vacations.And that's what they are getting. Hope you both are well and Jeff if your still on it get off right away.
