Billie, I have been around, just nothing to post. No news and still waiting like everyone. Guess there is more paperwork to sign ( disbursement) and now wondering when that might come.

Hello Everyone: I called my attorney's office yesterday and really got down to questioning them and demanded an explanation. After I was told that all cases around the country are being held up in Judge Ruffe's chambers because of the lien process, I then called Judge Ruffe's chambers and left a message. I managed to get through to her chambers. I want some answers and I want them NOW!
I am truly impressed with the fact you could leave a message with the courts.. Good going... Virtually every outside source (both nation news media and legal media); are stating that the two main roadblocks are Garrettson (due their snails pace and overtly lack of concern to get this completed in a timely manner) and liens resolution caused by the courts allowing insurer intervening measures. My own opinion would be that the Judge could step in and place a time-line but I doubt she will do such a measure.

my point was that disability will drag you through the dirt for years, like GSK. they know most people dont have funds to fight for disability over the long haul. i ran a family welding and machine shop for 20 years. had my family support and still had it rough surviving. would prefer to weld every day. wish you luck billie

If you are not on SSD, go to a SSD lawyer. They will asked for your medical records. If you can get them. Get the papers, from your primary doctor, that say you have a medical condition. When you are approve for SSD, the approval gone back to when you first started, in which medicare starts the 18 month countdown also. The lawyer get 25% of the check when approved but a max amount of $2500.00. I am not sure on this figure, but with me, I know that it was in the ball park of what they took while I got almost 2 years back pay from SSD. Has a veteran, if you can, stay away from the Veteran Admin. They will only screw it up and hold you up and waste more time. Good Luck.

I have no idea how old Billie is. If what your saying then he must be trying to get something else. I know here in new york on SS or SSD, you can earn more then a thousand dollars a month. Thank God for unearn income.

How do you earn money if you are disabled? Doesn't that jeopardize your SSD?

What I meant to say is you can earn 1000.00 a month and still collect SSD. Over 1000.00, you have to report it and they take the difference. There is a work program that SS has on this. What Billie is saying is, I think, If you work for the Federal G'ovt, you don't pay into SS.

Guys, I hope I can help you, my husband drew S.S. Disability before he got his 100% Va Pension, but we fought for it from 1984 till 3 yrs before he passed away. Now let me say this, when he was in service, he was in Vietnam, and he was in the agent orange in Danang, but when we filed for his pension they kept telling us that his Veterans medical records were burned up in St Louis in the records dept., so we dug around and kept trying, eventually writing a letter to commanders, and anyone else we could think of. I watched the magazines that I picked up at the VA Hospital, everaytime he had to go, finally they came out with enough rules and things that he had medically to get 100%. He had to be tested for agent orange exposure by a VA Dr., especially brought in from outside to test just for the Agent Orange, his blood work and records of where he was at in Nam, that I had kept when he came home, along with his DD214, and he got his pension with backpay to 1984.
I filed for my own SS Disability when I came out of work with cancer, fibro, diabetes, I filed in Feb, was approved in April got my first check in Nov., then when I turned 65 my diability went to just plain Social Security, after 65 you can work all you want without having to replace any to the government. But you don't have to worry about that because no employer is going to work you full time, so part time will be all you get and you are not going to earn a lot . If you file your own disability you have to be real real careful and read what they ask you, because they ask the same question 3 times but different ways trying to trick you to see if you answer wrong. Hope this helps.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aries

Keep a firm grip on your money today to avoid anyone else getting their mitts on it. If you're out in public you should keep your wallet or bag clamped to your side, just in case it goes walkabout. You should also make sure you check any bills and invoices that you're given, in case they contain a mistake. It's a day when errors and deceptions are highly likely.
