Atenolol side effects

i have been taking atenolol about 4 months and i have neck and headache pain .Does anyone else have this problem?

I do have headaches but did before I started taking atenolol. My problem is I sweat profusley. Does anyone else have this problem??

I had a quad by-pass in 1999.Since then I have taken beta blockers,including Atenolol which I am still on now.I had notice sweating alot just before my heartattack('99). Now 10yrs later it's worse. I sweat alot on my face and back of my neck doing very minor activities.This is the first time I had heard about Atenolol implications.I think I'll stop this med for awhile to see if there is a difference.Let you all know

My suggestion is before you stop taking any prescribed mendication you CALL YOUR DOCTOR! This isn't OTC stuff...it's prescribed for a reason and if you mess with that without the doctor knowing about it, you could be risking your health (read "life")...I take atenolol and have had many of the things you all have mentioned...lethargy, sweating, low sexual drive, etc....but hey, I'm alive! Call you doc and get a conversaton going...there are alternatives.

Does anyone experience aching joints upon awakening? Could this be a side effect?
