Atenolol and excessive facial sweating

I take 25mg (atelenol) for high blood pressure for the past 6 months. During the first week the sweating was crazy. And today at work (5 months later) I took my meds a little later in the morning and my whole body was sweating from about 9 till noon. I had to retreat to the bathroom to wipe my face down. So I guess it is a normal reaction even on the low dose I am on. I don't know why the symptom came back after being dormant for about 5 months. it's a great med, very effective, wish the sweating wasn't a factor!

What an interesting site. I have suffered from panic attacks for 20 years where my issue is excessive sweating. I was on metoprol to combat the pysical symptoms...it seemed to work but it was 2 x a day . A week ago I talked with my MD and for convenience he put me on atenol 1 once a day.a few days with the new medication...and I have had such excess sweating ..I cant describe. It has nothing to do with social settings...I sweat..sitting watching TV , sleeping etc.
I wonder how long the wash out period will be. I have not taken it for 2 days..I think my sweating is starting to subside! any comments welcome
