I am a young male (27) and developed low testosterone issues over a year now and with the HRT nothing has worked my test levels are very low 4ng/ml on avg.
(ref. range 1.95 -11.38) i have literally no sex drive and can never maintain an erection,i used to have alot of soy milk because of lactose intolerance and i have been told that the estrogens in soy are quite dangerous, as they affect testosterone level. I am really looking for an alternative, can arimadex help me? |

Without commenting on the efficacy of the drug, is he doing anything to raise his testosterone besides taking meds? There's no reason not to give yourself every advantage.
Here's an article that may help. Check with your doc, but no reason I know any of these 9 tips to raise testosterone would do anything but help... http://www.antiagingjournal.org/raise-your-te... |

Nicole and all others on here. I have had some serious health concerns and pituitary issues. My testosterone levels dropped to 58 and my FSH AND LH were almost nonexistent as well.(Those are levels which should be checked but a competent doctor) sperm count was 0 We found a good urologist/fertility specialist. He has put me on HCG shots of 2000IU M,W,F which I have noticed nobody had mentioned. Sperm count is up to 21.5 million motility is at 70% the shape is a little off and my Estradiol (estrogen) levels are high so he is putting me on Arimidex which should also help raise my testosterone above the 450 it is to already. Sound like a missing piece? |

Judged: 1 I have been watching this thread almost since it's inception, and feel the need to respond now. Briefly about me; I am a 38yr male married for 10 years now, and came to know few years back that I had a zero count, and just last year I was diagnosed with the Klinefelter Syndrome. And I started consulting a renowned Endocrinologist specializing in Male Infertility and who has successfully treated other men with Klinfelter Syndrome infertility, based in Los Angeles. He suggested late last year that I start Arimidex 1mg everyday. Unfortunately it's very expensive (almost $400 for a month), so I have started to get it from abroad for less than half. And according to him, it would have taken almost a year to double my Testosterone and Free Testosterone. So I did my own research and started taking Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) injections of 10,000 I.U, twice a week along with the Arimidex, and here are my results so far: My old blood test conducted in September 2011 (before I started Arimidex & HCG): Total Testosterone: 209 Free Testosterone: 31.5 FSH: 37.5 And my new test which was conducted in January 2012 had these results: Total Testosterone: 447 Free Testosterone: 103.2 FSH: 38.3 As you can see, the FSH has remained almost the same with less than a point increase. But the Total Testosterone has increased to 447, which is more than double. And the Free Testosterone has increased to 103.2, which is almost three times increase. I had a break for last three months as I could not get the meds, but I just managed to get 5 months supply of both Arimidex and HCG 10,000 I.U. And hopefully at the end of these 5 months I will be in a very good position to have a successful fertility. The reason I have posted my case is to support the previous members Bryant's comments, that HCG is as important to be used in conjunct with Arimidex, if you want to boost the results. But if you have the time to wait a year or more, then only Arimidex should work fine. |

We have 2 children and have been trying to get pregnant again for 4 years now. The only issue we had before was I didn't ovulate and clomid worked right away. We finally went and saw a fertility urologist and my husband count is fine but the morphology is on the lower side. First test was at 6% and the 2nd test was at 3%... So 2 months ago the doctor started him on Anastrozole(Arimidex...) he was going to put him on Clomid but thought this would work better.I guess my question is what are my chances with it improving his morphology and if so how long will it take?and if you know if anything else that would help that would be great.

Hi Rona,
My fertility doctor who prescribed Arimidex said, that even after taking Arimidex for five months, the increase in Sperm production or count will be too small for natural fertility (non-surgical). So going going in for the Micro TESE surgery is the only option. But with the positive blood results (after being on Arimidex), it will have a much better chance of finding sperm. I am currently on Arimidex 1mg/day for about four months (along with HcG), and will get my blood tests done in a couple of weeks. And based on the results, my doctor would recommend if I can go in for the TESE. I will update this forum after I get my blood results. Or you can message me directly, if you need any other information. Thank you.

Judged: 1 1 At 30 years old (2001), I was diagnosed and treated for testicular cancer. Testicle removed followed by radiation therapy. I was told at the time that treatment would likely affect my ability to produce sperm. Fast forward to 2012. Finally in a relationship where we want to have children. First step, knowing my history with cancer, is to go to my doctor for a fertility screening (T, FSH, SA). Doctor calls two weeks later ad regretfully informs me that there is no way I will ever have children (Kaiser Permanente physician). Girlfriend's IVF doc refers me to Dr Paul Turek at the Turek Clinic in San Francisco. Dr Turek is a world renowned specialist in male-factor infertility and is located in the same facility as Pacific Fertility Center. He confidently told me that no offense to my Dr and Kaiser, but they don't know any better. His confidence in finding sperm is inspiring. He trains PFC lab techs in male-factor infertility. Now, listen up "low-sperm count camp": I began banking samples in very low amounts. Are you ready? Banked Sample: 1. 75 sperm 2. 12 sperm 3. 4 sperm 4. 9 sperm 5. 3 sperm 6. 15 sperm At this point we determine that we have enough banked to give IVF a try. "It only takes ONE." 1st IVF attempt: 4 (that's FOUR) viable sperm collected. 2 embryo's transferred. Neg pregnancy. 2nd IVF attempt: 2 viable sperm collected. 3 eggs fertilized (one with a frozen sample). Single embryo transferred. Neg pregnancy. Now, moving to donor egg, as my partners age is a factor. Starting Arimedex treatment to spike numbers and motility. The point is: YOU. DO. NOT. HAVE. LOW. SPERM. COUNT!!! It is there and don't let ANYONE tell you, based on semen analysis and hormone levels alone, otherwise. The technology is out there. While he is not cheap (and not contracted with any insurance), Dr Turek's expertise and the experience at the Turek Clinic is second to none. If you can get there, it will be well worth your time and money. If you can't make it there, perhaps try to schedule a phone consultation with Dr Turek. He is actively involved in male-factor studies and could refer you to a specialist in your area. While we haven't had success with IVF to this point, we are hopeful that we will have success with donor eggs and my sperm. Yes, all 25 to 50 at a time. |
