coming of arimidex

my mum has past the five year point on taking airmidex but the doctor is not sure on how she is to come off of them
also she has a number of fears that cancer could come back as she will start producing oestrogen

I am 6 weeks post right mastectomy including sentinal node. Path report said diffuse DCIS with one .3cm tumor with invasive cells. Nodes clear, no residual invasive cells found. Good news! 97% chance of non-recurrance in 10 years. Onc. wants me to take Arimidex to protect healthy left breast. Already have hot flashes. Has anyone experienced vaginal dryness and thinning and lack of desire on Arimidex? Has anyone experienced those side effects, then gone off the drug? Once vaginal thinning and dryness take place does it regenerate if you stop taking Arimidex? Am thinking I don't want to face side effects for the sake of unknown benefit to protect other breast.

i aqm 6 yrsw poswt breast cancer been taking arimidex and very well on them felt great i stopped them 6 months ago and have felt rubbish since i have had one ilness after another i have exczema on my scalp and my face qnd anything going i get it has anyone experienced anything like this
