Hi
As a person with Early Onset AD I have experinced a dislike in bathing, especially showers, that I would like to share. It is that the water is highly stimulating to nerve cells and it makes for a quick overload. The brain processes too slowly for the many "hits" of the water from the shower. From a poem I wrote: "And all that water hitting me like a thousand questions, too fast for my brain, too fast for my sense of touch..." So please do be extra careful when helping persons with a shower, and go easily and slowly. Thank you |
