Arava

Had severe side effects from Arava, including pulmonary distress, chronic & severe coughing and yellow-colored sputum production, chest pains, extraordinary weakness and trouble breathing. Various tests did not reveal bacterial or viral infection.

I used Arava for 3 years and it worked great for me with no noticeable side effects. I had sever RA and Psoriatic arthritis.(Rheumatologist said I could have been the 'poster child' for Arava.

Switched to Enbrel 2 years ago as Arava does not help psoriasis skin problems. Enbrel worked great until 3 months ago, then just stopped working.

I have been on Arava for a little over 4 months now. When i started it, I felt better for the first month then i felt the regular pain, it just stopped. They told me to wait up to 6 months.

Well, it's over 4 months now and i am haivng breathing asthma problems, I am having odd heart beats with the asthma, menstraul cycles that are well over 16 days long and are heavy. Hopefully I will be off this drug starting this week (takes 11 days with meds to get it out of system) and will see from there.

The only thing to work on me left is Remecade, enbral etc. I have tried all the pill versions and they didn't work.

I do take celebrex and it takes a ton of my pain away thankfully.

Please fogive the last post. After tons of trial and error, i found out my lungs are shot (not from arava) and other symptoms were other drugs they had me on.

So Arava didn't hurt my breathing.

I too have had chronic coughing and sputum. I wondered about it because it started about 2 weeks into this medication.
I would like to stop taking, do you have to take other meds to get off this stuff, or can I jsut stop?

I have been taking Arava, Humira, and Mobic for several months. I now have a skin rash in some areas as well as chronic itching without rash. Between the two, this is over my entire body. I have stopped taking all medication and have continued to have these symptoms for over 6 weeks. Has anyone else had these symptoms from any of the above-mentioned drugs. How long does one have to wait for the symptoms to subside?

I take Arava (usually order at http://totaldrugs24.com/item/arava.html ). As any drug, it has side effects. But it's really effective med for me.
