Wow! I think I'll get my doctor to write me a prescription for one of these free drugs! That way I can help Publix fuel the unchecked spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that are turning routine hospital visits into nightmares of suffering or death sentences.

Congratulations on getting a front page story. I would have expected the Publix story to look at unintended consequences. The medical community has for decades had a problem with antibiotic resistant diseases because of over prescribed drugs. Making them free exacerbates that problem..

Why would you be so negative? That copay someone may have to pay, or the full price of that drug if they need it can now go to buy some milk or put gas in someones car. If the idiots who insist on getting antibiotics for non-bacterial illnesses and the idiot doctors who give into them would stop, we wouldn't have that problem. Also, the people who don't take all their antibiotics and save them for later make this worse.

It's bad enough pharmaceutical manufacturers charge an arm & a leg; but the PHARMACIES of different stores are the ones who rob us blind with their prices. Thank heaven for all the humanitarian things Publix has always done for it's customers.
