suicide overdose on ambien?

is it possible to commit suicide by overdose on ambien? how many mg's does it take?

My wife recently took what I think was about 15 of the 10mg pills (Ambien). Days later, she is still weak, groggy, and having hallucinations, but is very much alive. She is in the hospital with other pressing medical issues, but the hospital is aware of what she did. Ambien can be dangerous, but would not be my drug of choice for suicide. She also failed to tell me that she wanted to die, so upon finding her in that very groggy state, I called 911. Not much choice anyway, as a home health care worker just arrived for a visit when I found her. Timing is everything!! I am a firm believer in the right to die, and my poor wife has gone through enough shit for 20 lifetimes, and it's just getting worse. I'm thinking Temazepam is the best choice from what is in our medicine cabinet. 50 tabs I'm thinkin'.
