Ambien CR and Alcohol

Has anyone experienced taking Ambien CR and craving food and or alcohol right after? I can't take this stuff, it does the strangest things to me. It doesn't make me sleep it makes me want to go to a party. It only happens that once in a great while I decided to pop an Ambien. I am tossing them out I decided.

Jason, First, don't toss them out, others may want them...JUST KIDDING! I took the CR's and I took it along with 1 regular Ambien and it didn't do a whole lot more for me then taking 2 Ambiens. If I take Ambien on an empty stomach before I go to sleep...I'm snacking galore. I get so hungry to munch. As for going to a party? Ambien does give me that little "Elation" type feeling for awhile, I enjoy it, then lie down, let it rest my mind and then I sleep!

I took "1" ambien, laid in bed next to my roommate (california king sized bed), after 20 mins.; tossed for about three minutes,.....JUMPED out of bed, got undressed, went and sat on the balcony (third story, corner unit), proceeded to call my friend Charles...tell him that my roommate had STOLEN my identity, And that I locked her (my roommate) in the trunk of MY car....he drives over to my apartment, knocks on the door.......(roommate answers the door); as I AM STILL NAKED ON THE BALCONY and on the phone with the friend CHARLES (who is now @ the DOOR!!).....she ?'s "Why R U here?".....because your roommate said she locked YOU in the trunk of HER car..........get the picture? I didn't! not even days later..........PEACE W/O Ambien

Yeah, i start feeling irritatingly hungry after i take it, even if I've already eaten. And then ... this is weird, but my teeth start to feel funny. like really heavy and noticeable.???

Jason, I have had that effect from Ambien as well. I am a recovering alcoholic, however, and Ambien has triggered that old party bug I used to have. Definitely some cross tolerance going on there. Careful, if you decide to take it.

It gets worse-- when I started it several years ago it was a God send. After 17 years on the night i would get no more than a couple of hours.
so I went to the Dr to see what he suggested-----Sure was Ambien crt. Once and a while I do sleep but not that ofen. Usually I lay down for an hour or so then wake up famished and head to the frige or the chips. Sometimes I remember and sometime I don't.At times I go out and clean the garage with no memory.I talked to my dr about it and he said that was pretty normal. Whatta wou thing out there-----Tonight for example I had 3 beers and a small glass of flavored coniac and the trusty Ambien. So I cannot sleep-----figure that?Come on morning
