For years I have been taking metformin & acarbose & repaglinide but because my HbA1c is creeping up over 7 and beyond, my doctor wants to replace the acarbose and repaglinide with Amaryl.
1. The doctor made no reference to the low-dose aspirin that I take, neither to the Ramipril blood-pressure pills. But I read on the Web that there could be interaction. 2. Type 2 diabetes involves insufficient absorption of insulin, but I understand that Amaryl increases the production of insulin which does not address the problem. 3. If I start on Amaryl, am I obliged to continue or can I try it then revert to my present treatment ? Many thanks to anyone who will advise. |
