the 1st thing they teach you about ace-inhibitors is that the main side effect is a cough... they should have advised the patient to find a new doctor... & then switch to an ARB...

ACE inhibitors are wonderful drugs. They lower BP, protect the kidneys in diabetics, and actually help repair or remold the heart ventricle . Unfortunately, some patients do develop a cough on these products and they should be discontinued in that setting. However the majority of people have no problem tolerating them. They are much less expensive than their ARB cousins and for that reason remain an excellent choice of medication

I was on lisinopril for about two months and had an awful cough during all that time. when I had a dr. checkup I told him about it and he took me off for two weeks. cough continued. went to another doctor and he said two weeks was not long enough and said to stay off lisinopril for two months. the coughing has subsided, not completely, but not as bad. I am now on Avalide and that also is an Ace inhibitor. Any chance that also may induce cough?

Blue Cross/Blue Shield made me change to the generic Ramipril from Altace. Altace kept my blood pressure at 110/74. With Ramipril it's up to 154/92. So they say their the same ingrediants. Well, not by my experience! I do not have a cough, but I am constantly clearing my throat.

THE FIRST TWO GAVE ME A TERRIBLE COUGH..
ATACAND GAVE ME HEAD ACHES AND THE NEWEST ONE PUT ME INTO ORBIT...
ARE THERE NO HIGH PRESSURE MEDS OUT THERE THAT DO NOT HAVE SIDE EFFECTS?
MY DR TRIED TAKE ME OFF EVERYTHING AND I RANGED FROM 198/108 TO 140 /90....EVERY LITTLE STRESS SETS IT OFF...

Daily Horoscope for November 24

Virgo

If you've been under pressure lately, you might reach critical mass today. The sensitive Moon clashes with the Sun, adding an edge to the mood in your relationships. You're likely to bite your room-mate's head off if your head isn't bitten off first... try to find something to laugh about to ease the tension. Those of you in intimate relationships can channel all this wild energy into passionate encounters, so avoid senseless bickering.
