I've read a lot about fructose, especially the "high fructose corn syrup" they put in almost everything these days. It affects our organs, teeth, causes obesity and, in one study, it made the sex organs of rats atrophy and made their livers fatty.
We should all be cooking most of our food from scratch AT HOME since the supermarkets are full of junk. Even the produce is irradiated and genetically modified, but it's definitely better than anything out of a can. Meat is also full of chemical preservatives and hormones, so go light on it (not saying to eliminate it). I, myself, don't eat beef, but if I did I'd boil it before frying it for a meal because that gets out a lot of junk. |

Fructose, especially in the form of High Fructose Corn Syrup, is more evil than sugar. Look up some recent reserach: they're finding HFCS being linked to not only gout but diabetes. I've long thought that gout and diabetese are closely related. Maybe it's not the purines so much as fructose. I used to be a heavy soda drinker when I started having gout attacks. I've cut out all sodas (drink some diet but not much) and I've had far fewer attacks.
Also, started my low carb diet and I avoid not just fructose in manufactured and processed foods such as sodas and juices, but also carrots and tomatoes (high fructose). I've lost 27 pounds in less than a month: 208 to 181. |

It's good to know others are informed and feel as I do. Especially if you have kids or an infant, you are harming them by giving them this stuff.
