Hi, I have read all your comments about using Aldara.I have had a cone biopsy in June 2004 due to an advanced displasya and also a freezing in November 2006. Still my cells reappear affected after 3 years. I now have a metaplasya (the stage before displasya)and my cone is bleeding. I have the HPV 16, and my doctor recommended using Aldara. Do you know whether Aldara is used only for warts or in any of the cases where HPV is present?(because not every HPV type causes warts, and my doctor hasn't told me anything about having warts). What test should my boyfriend do? Should he make the same treatment as I am taking?
Has anyone had this cone bleeding after a freezing or cone biopsy etc? I made all kind of checks, and went to 4 gino's, but no one can tell me why it is bleeding..???
Wish you all the best!

OMG..you gotta know..my doctor used aldara internally,( I have no cervix) so this was at the tip of the vaginal area. Within 24 hours I was in SUCH SEVERE pain, with fever, that I had to use my Lifeline to call for an ambulance.

NOTHING stopped the pain. By then I had been given, percocet, oxycontin, valium and morphine IV and the only thing that brought relief was dilaudid. That is the strongest med. they can give.

My vagina swelled, and I blistered. It was nothing but a nightmare. I suffered SO much everyone, I cannot even express what kind of pain I had. Death would of been better, I swear to God at that time. I cried like a baby and ran a fever as I stated. I could NOT even walk. I already have Lupus and numerous other autoimmune problems and now I am very worried at what may be some lasting effects.

I am forgetting things and I lost weight in the last week. 6 lbs to be exact. You can find ALL of my symptoms in the insert that comes with this medicine. It says externally for a reason and I think they are taking a HUGE chance of putting this inside of anyone.

Thanks for listening. I am not a doctor but dear God I PRAY none of you have to go through what I experienced.

The dermatologist recomended Aldara 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Now is the 3rd week and some are larger and red in the chest, the ones in the neck are smaller and in the chin are the same.
If somebody has experience with this medicine in the children , please tell us how long it takes for a real improvement and if these tretment really is safe for kids.
My son is 8 and has had warts on his hands for almost four years. His Dr prescribed Aldara. We are on our fourth day. I am not seeing any side effects. I am anxious to see if this works. Most of what I have read about side effects has been problems on the face and chest area. Luckily my sons problem is on his hands. I am applying it at night so he is asleep. I like you are anxious to see if this works. Kids can be so cruel and I know that it is difficult for you to see your child hurt when there is nothing you can do to really help ease that pain. I keep telling my son that eventually it will get better (which is not much comfort). I will keep you posted on what I see with him and his hands.

I can not believe a doctor has prescribed this drug to a 8 yrs old boy. Aldara is not surpose to be given to anyone under the age of 18yrs old and is still in trial mode.

Aldara is an immune system modifier than is still under study.

If you want to really know about the serious side effects then visit

I promise you this will work on your son if you try it, this information is provided to you for free by me. Not selling this information of which I studied years in finding.

Please keep in mind that Aldara, is a serious drug with serious side effects. Your son will not die from warts but could become serious ill which is not reversed. You only have to look at HIV suffers to see what immune system drugs have the potential to do. This not a con is true.

I wish you all the look in your quest if you follow my instructions you son will be wart free within a few days or week I promise. No side effects and it is available anywhere.

God bless you and your son.

I had a severe reaction to Aldara cream and was hospitalized. The reaction included flu-like symptoms, fever, considerable pain and swelling of the genital area.
I only applied the cream twice before I had this reaction.
I'd advise anyone to be sure your doctor applies the prescription and not do it yourself.
Who knows what the long term effects are, if any, but I am still experiencing discomfort and side-effects several months after the reaction.
Will keep you posted on my recovery.
I hope this comment reaches out and helps other women in avoiding any type of reaction.
Take it from me it was an absolute awful experience.
Be careful ladies - use it sparingly and with absolute care.

My son (5 years) was diagnosed with the same. He had tiny "bumps" that looked like pimples about 8-10 that were extracted with his doctor then put on an antibiotic back in October. The bumps did not get better by Jan. so we went back and he then was sent to a dermatologist which prescribed aldara. We are on week 2 and his "bumps" are now a bright red giant patch that is worse than before. The bumps have turned into a bright red patch of dry flakey skin and spread away from the molluscum infected area. His skin looks so bad his teachers are constantly making us bring in notes from th doctor because his skin looks horrible and is getting worse. I feel like they think i am crazy bc the line "oh it gets worse before better" is getting old to them. Which is what the docs keep telling us.
I dont know if this is a good idea but i have stopped the medicine ( yesterday ) due to him crying when we have to put the medicine on and his emarrasment. Also due to me reading horror stories about this medicine does not help. If anyone can please help me settle my nerves please email me or reply i would appreciate it greatly. He has not had any side effect ive read it about ( ex; fever, sore throat ect..) also he is going to the derma this week but im scared his poor skin might be destroyed for life. Please tell me it gets better! Jbacon215@yahoo.com

I had a biopsy of a rash from my chin and it was diagnosed as a pre-cancer. I used the prescribed aldara and here i am 8 weeks later with a staph infection in 2 places (instead of the one) and not sure if the pre-cancer has been taken care of. my dermo thought it was working and i thought something was wrong - doctors don't listen to patients like they should. i haven't had any severe or serious side affects, but wonder about cerain problems - maybe they were caused by the aldara. i personally will not take it again - or get a second opinion!!!

Wow, I'm taking aldara for genital warts and I haven't had a bad reaction at all and my warts are going away already. I've only been using it for 1.5 weeks! The only side effects I've had was slight burning, itchiness and redness. After a week of applying the warts felt soft when before they felt firm and they were more distinct to the touch. Now I can still feel and see them but they are noticeably smaller. Sorry to hear that most of you people are having negative reactions.

Wow just happened upon this site when reading about aldera cream. I've been using Aldera on my chest and upper arm for basil cell carcinoma for the last 5 weeks. Good thing I didn't see this earlier or probably would have stopped! It has really hurt in that area and actually caused, what the dr. said was more carcinomas to surface and be healed. After using this on my chest I can't imagine using it on any womanly parts! It has been painful with lots of blistering and acute itching in that area. I have not suffered any side effects. I'm glad my time will be up next week. I use it 5x a week for 6 weeks.

Anyone with such conditions should try Mangosteen. It's an awesome botanical grown in Southeast Asia. I had a large growth on my arm and i applied Mangosteen to it in the AM and before bed with a gauze. In about 5 days it fell off!! This is made into a wondeful tasting juice with extreamly powerful healt benefits with a substantial amount of science behind it. Learn more at www.InformationOnMangosteen.info if this works on the outside of the body like that, think what it might do on the inside!

In 2001, the dermatologist prescribe it for my daughter for warts on her knees and forearms. I applied it for the duration and they went away, she was 7. she is now 14 and has never had any warts since. The only difference back then was that we used it daily and covered with the round band-aids. She had a ton of round band aids on her for a while. In 2001, it recommended washing the sit first, but never o wash off after 8 hours. Od coarse she bathed daily so it diid get washed about 8hours anyway. Hope this helps!

One comment, it does say in the literature to apply only to the effected area. In warts it is easiler to aply a dollup, and it will also redden the normal skin. I have used over-counter wart solutions, acid-type, and the therory behind them is to irritate the area so your immune system is alerted and will attack the site, which then kills the wart. The aldera seems to have a similar therory by promoting the immune system. I was wondering what it is made of and was doing some research when I happened upon this site. Does anyone know what is in IMIQUIMOD?

From my experience if you want to go straight the he** and back and maybe never recover, then use the aldara internally. My doctor ruined me, I cannot now have an intimate relations and I have a lawyer. For the few that have the devestating effects that I suffered, I would say NEVER use aldar internally
