I had a leep/conebiopsy done aug 30th 2006. Does any one have any comments re: the after effects, such as light bleeding and vaginal odor. Is this normal? Just started a couple days ago. As for the comments re: the aldera...I was using it externally on one small condaloma, and it did not seem to work, just irritated it. To protect the surrounding areas from getting irritated as well (places where there are not condaloma)....surround the area with vaseline first so that only the wart is touched with the aldera. and only a spot will do(not supposed to rub in)

The dermatologist recomended Aldara 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Now is the 3rd week and some are larger and red in the chest, the ones in the neck are smaller and in the chin are the same.
If somebody has experience with this medicine in the children , please tell us how long it takes for a real improvement and if these tretment really is safe for kids.
According to the studies, Aldara is not effective on warts. I think you should get a second opinion. My two year old son has a wart on his forehead and our dermatologist said that children shouldn't use medication for warts. She said to put the adhesive part of the band-aid on the wart once a day for a couple of months as the adhesive draws out the wart.

How Does ALDARA Cream Work?
ALDARA cream is an immune response modifier that stimulates the body's own immune response system and helps the body fight the virus.

I have seen it written, of the use of a product called "herbal ed's salve" by Herb Pharm for use in helping heal displasia. It sounds like a better option to me. What I saw said to smear salve on a tampon and insert before bed, each night, for the three weeks each month that one is not on her period. The paperwork said that it took one woman three months of this to get a clean bill of health. I think I will go that route before the use of something chemical.....

Ladies, I am a male, 54 years of age. I have used Aldara one year ago for about 5 weeks. This was prescribed as a treatment for skin cancer on the forehead. It did clear up the skin cancer by basically burning it off. The long term side effects are yet to be seen. As of one year later, I have lost vision in my right eye with a condition the doctors are just guess at. I have since learned that this seems to be a very dangerous drug in certain people. I was prescribed to use the Aldara on my forehead and right temple for 10 weeks. The side effects were so severe I had to stop using it. I have later learned that there may be some link to use of Aldara and the destruction of mucus membranes in the body. I have other symptoms I will not go in to here. Very uncomfortable to say the least. All I can say is use caution in using this medicine.

I used Aldara on AK on the lip area two years ago. My lip became an oozing sore from the medication and swelled up. I began to have reactions such as my eyelids swelling shut and blurred vision. I did stop use and the AK has not returned. Two years later I am using Aldara on my forehead and chest area and have not had the same reaction. It is possible that the skin is less sensitive. When the reaction to Aldara becomes too bad; ichy, swoolen, I have stopped use for one week and the condition improves.

Hello, I just wanted to let everyone know that I recently had a pap test after using aldera cream for about six months for mild dysplasia. The test came back normal with no signs of cancer or pre-cancer, (dysplasia), however I am going to go back again in about a month for another pap test just to make sure. if it comes back normal again, then I will just continue to get pap tests like every four to six months instead of only once a year. I am no longer using the aldera cream, and if the next test comes back abnormal, I will try a different treatment, such as a cone biopsy. I would recomend aldera cream for anyone who has dysplasia.

Lisa, Congrats on the normal pap!!!!!!!! Woohoo! Hope you continue to keep getting normal ones! Thank you for updating us, I have been wondering about you! I still havent used the cream, its sitting in my bathroom cabinet. I think i will start now. I have fibbed to my dr and told them i have started, last august, now he wants a pap but i am in between jobs with no insurance. But thank you for letting me know! I have my aldara already to go just still been scared about being uncomforatable. Anyhow i think i will start it tonight. It will be a long 3 months. Was it uncomfortable for the whole 3 months or just at first or any uncomforableness for you at all?

Hey Sheri, thanks! Yeah you should definitly start using the Aldera as soon as possible. During the first couple of times I was using it, I felt a little weak/achy and just some slight flu-like symptoms, but nothing to bad at all. Also, I did have itchyness and slight irritation in that area sometimes, but again, nothing to bad. As far as using it during your period, my gyno never said anything about that, so I did use it. I would just wear a pad and also the tampon for the cream, because it's just overnight that you need it in. You may want to check with your gyno, but I think it's fine. Anyway, hope this helps and keep me posted!

My son has this also when he was two. He had it on his chest i believe. the doctor burned (i think) them off and i also think we used aldara on some. It was not a big deal and they all went away within a couple of weeks and none ever returned.(he is 5 now)

Hi Pam. I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. I had the same thing happen to me over the summer, used aldera for about six months and just had a normal pap recently.Read my comments above for more information.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
