My younger sister has been diagnosed with Bowen’s disease. 2 months back, she noticed a red and scaly patch on her right left. She showed it to us one day while we were having dinner. She said that it was not itchy but dad forced her to go and see a dermatologist the next day. She had some tests done and one week later, we came to know that she has Bowen’s disease. The doctor told her to apply efudix cream for 1 month and told her to see him again after one month. Two weeks have already passed since she is using this cream; she says that it burns a lot when she applies it on her skin. I find no improvement in the patches. It is still red and the same size as it was before. I just read that “Efudix is mainly used to treat skin cancers and skin conditions which can develop to cancer”; http://www.drugdelivery.ca/s3472-s-EFUDIX.asp... Is there a chance of this turning into cancer and spreading? My friend says that Aldara is a new and better treatment for Bowen’s disease? Is that true?
