Rheumatoid arthritis likely cause of aching feet

I have rheumatoid arthritis, and have found Omega 3 (fish oil), and vitamin D3 to help considerably lessen the pain and swelling. I always suggest seeing a naturopath or homeopath first, and then as a last resort, taking prescription medication.

I also take Omega 3 (fish oil) with high levels of epa and dha. It certainly helped, but what really did the trick was low dose naltrexone. I too have aching feet with swollen ankles. Also, a burning, aching sensation in my legs. Most uncomfortable. I started taking humira about 8 weeks ago. No change yet. My diagnosis is RA. Any suggestions on what to do with pain until humira srarts to work?

What NSAID are you taking? Is it working? There's lots of different kinds, you could switch to something more effective. If the aching sensation is worst at the end of the day or after you've been on your feet a long time, try putting your legs up. Lay on your bed with your legs resting against the headboard. I sit upside down in my recliner! ;)

I am taking Naproxen and never thought to perhaps try a different one. I'm going to look into that next visit. Thank you.

Just because your feet ache doesn't necessary mean you have Rheumatoid Arthritis. However you should do to your doctor to try to figure out what is the cause of your aching feel. A proper diagnosis will have to be made. Your doctor will be able to rule whether or not your suffer from rheumatoid arthritis.

If you are taking ANY NSAID for long-term daily pain/inflammation control, you need to learn about what it can do to your liver - especially if you are taking other medications as well.

As for the natural route, there are alternatives like Celadrin which do not impact upon liver function and topical creams that contain capsaicin.
