I been taking actos for approx. 8 years and have gained 80 pounds. A different doctor said its ths actos. Has anyone experience simular side effects.

I gained lots of wieght and my leg swelled up, it got enfected, and i got realy sick.i stopped taking that worthless drug.

I started actos a few months ago. A month later I started having pains in my upper left abdomen. My upper abdomen felt hard and not soft and flabby. I was having chills, shakes, hot flashes, heart palps and lots of pain. My stomach felt full all the time and I couldn't eat much. I stopped actos and had a CT scan and labs which were all normal. ABout 4 days after stopping actos, my stomach wasn't as tight and a week later I could eat more. I slowly started to feel better but then one day 2 weeks ago I had terrible stomach spasms but they went away after a day. Now, 4 weeks after stopping actos the abdomen pain and pressure is back along with the shakes and chills. I see my doc tomorrow . May not have been actos but I have read it can still affect the body a few months after stopping. I just know I will never take that again. I hate this feeling. My legs/feet/ankles never did swell. I wonder how much actos could have messed up my pancreas or heart now after all I have read.

Yes it is true ,my physician did not tell me in 2 wks I gain 5 lbs which is very unusual for me and when I confronted my physician she admited that it is because of Actos. then she want me to keep taking actos and add on another med for apitite supressent. actos make you retain water water.that makes your ankle swell.

After a few days of taking Actos, I started feeling light headed, very emotional and could not concentrate. I stopped taking actos and am doing 100% better. Has anyone had this experience after taking actos?

My doctorswitched me to Actos at 30 MM twice a day from Metformin 1,000 twice a day. Sugar levels averaged 225 and a few days over 300. I had a hard time sleeping and gained 5 pounds in 4 weeks. I developed sever neck pains. Yesterday, 2.9 I stopped taking Actos and today 2/10 my neck pain is 100% gone. Im back to taking Metformin and feel terrific, like a 20 year old. Im 60.

I took Actos for only two weeks and the sore throat, cough, and extremely, extremely dry throat and mouth were enough to get me off of it! The blood sugars dropped nicely but I couldn't sleep or finish a sentence from the cough and dryness. I have only been off it for one day now and 75% of it is all gone. I can't wait to get back to normal....
