I have been on aciphex for well over a year and have developed severe headaches. I had read that this could be a side effect of aciphex but was wandering if anyone that had developed headaches noticed them being brought on by any specific thing (movement, straining, bending over etc.) I have had MRIs and gone through a ton of tests before finding that these migrains could possibly be caused by this med. I have only been off of it for a little over a week and have noticed a considerable difference in not having soreness in my hands/joints and also in not haveing headaches.
I have been on Aciphex for 17 months. At just over 12 months, this past summer 2007, I started to get joint soreness in my fingers and what I as a layman would call "water on the knee" in one of my knees. There is a feeling of fullness but no pain in the knee unless I squat or otherwise completely bend the knee, which I simply can't do due to pain and what feels like excess fluid in the knee.
The pain gradually increased over the last few months to the point that I decided to stop the Aciphex five weeks ago to see if that would have any effect. The joint soreness is about 70% better and the knee is about 50% better. I am definitely going in the right direction.
I am grateful for some corroboration of what I am going through. I did not find the joint soreness in any of the side-effect literature, but then the clinical studies did not extend beyond a few months.
Many thanks!!!
