i didn't know if anyone was having this same problem but.. i've been on accutane for 4 months now and my skin is the driest its ever been. its like i have a severe sunburn on my nose and around my mouth. on top of that im starting to break out under my lip because im constantly moisturizing. i guess i thought either the dryness or breakouts would stop by now. is this abnormal or has anyone experienced this same thing?

did you doctor seem to think that your reaction was normal in the 5th month? is that why you are going an extra couple months?

What dosage are you on - see if you can cut back to a lower dosage or just take the pill every other day.

my dose is 80 mg once a day and next month my derm said i should up it to 100 mg. does cutting back on the dosage slow down the clearing up process?

WOW is all i have to say.... you know I honestly don't think that some of these doctors out there know how potent this stuff is! I'm on 20 mg per day and I have minor irritation around my lips which feels like sunburn too - i recently cut back to taking the pill every other day because I don't want to trade in my acne for irritated skin - i just want to be normal. I can't imagine if I were on 80 or 100 per day!! That really seems like an awful lot! Why does your doc want to bump it up even more?!? My doc said that it's important to find the dosage that works for you because if your skin becomes too irritatied that that alone will cause break outs. I know some people that were on 60 mg and wouldn't stop breaking out until her doc switched her to 10mg then she cleared up right away. You should talk to you doc about that - or possible get a 2nd opinion. Good luck.

ps mlejn - i'm no doctor, but as a person who has been on this stuff 3 times i can honestly tell you that the lower the dosage, the sooner i get clear. I'm on day 7 and my skin is almost perfect - i'm totally clear as far as new acne goes (pretty much just waiting for old wounds to heal) and only have very slight side effect. I did 20 mg per day for the first 4 days and now i'm taking 20mg every other day because i started to feel the irritation. I think if i were to go up any higher it would ruin the balance and the break outs would start again.

Use some jojoba oil. It works magically. I had extremely flaky skin. EXTREMELY. I picked some up at whole foods after my derm said it helps with dry skin.

I am currently on my fifth course of Accutane from http://z-isotretinoin.info . When I began my first course in 2003 as a 14-year-old, I had extremely severe cystic acne. My face, neck, throat, chest, and back were all covered with acne. I had absolutely no self confidence whatsoever. To be perfectly honest, I hated my life. Within two months of beginning Accutane, my acne began to improve. By the time my first course was finished, I had gone from having severe cystic acne to completely acne-free. I had regained my confidence, and I began to truly enjoy life.

I've tried both original brand and generic accutane. I prefer generic accutane - There is no difference in effectiveness as far as I can tell between the brand and generic versions. The real difference is price, no comparison. And this suppliers seem honest and reliable. On the site http://g-isotretinoin.info I've just placed my 3rd order.
Thanks for that address. http://g-isotretinoin.info has my pills within a week at my door. They perfectly work! I have found them very good value for money. My special discount coupon 1VQY12ZPi3

I have been on this from http://g-isotretinoin.info for 3 months now and have noticed a massive improvement of my acne. The acne on my back is practically non existent and the amount on my face has dramatically improved. I got lots of comments today saying how face has cleared up since I last saw these people 2 weeks ago. I now have much less acne on my face and it expected to all be gone in 3 more months forever. I am currently on 60mg a day one at morning and 2 at night and I am a 15 year old female. I have had some back pain when I play my weekly sport and dry lips but that is all the side effects I have had.

I started Accutane when I was 17. My skin looked really bad. I had pimples on my face approaching the size of dimes. The acne went over my shoulders, down the front of my chest and down to the bottom of my back. I tried all the creams and fancy products and nothing worked. My doctor finally put me on a round of Accutane from http://g-acne-treatment.info . The first dose I was on for a couple of months didn't do much, so the doctor doubled it. Within six months, my acne was almost all gone and I stopped treatment. Within 18 months I had zero acne and zero scarring - my skin was utterly flawless and still is. I am now basically cured of acne - less than half a dozen pimples in ten years. Miracle.

I fought with acne throughout my teenage years and tried everything to get rid of it (proactiv, neutrogena, retin-a, clean and clear, you name it). I experienced quite an initial breakout soon after I started accutane but was expecting it and told myself my skin would get better. I’m now in the last week of my treatment and my skin is flawless. I haven’t had a single zit in 3 months, and scars from my previous breakouts are fading. If your in doubt that accutane can solve your acne frustrations, don’t be. Survive the first two months or so of accutane and you will be rewarded with the complexion you’ve always wanted.

Before I went on accutane from http://fastacnetreat.info I had tried EVERYTHING... constant Cremes, Benzyol Proxide, 3 different antibiotics, retin A Creme... you name it I used it. None of these things really worked for me; it would only suppress my acne. BTW.. I should inform everyone on here that I never had awful acne, I had moderately severe acne that I was sick of dealing with. I finally decided to go on accutain and I will admit I was really scared. Thr first two months were rough not going to lie; after those two months my face started looking better and better. Now I have NO acne on my face just a couple on my back... it really is AMAZING. Don't let anyone stop you from taking this medication... it works and no one should suffer with acne!!! I have one more month so lets hope I get 100% clear!! I'm at about 88%
