I'm on my 5th month and finishing up in 2 weeks baby! I plan on going travelling again after christmas and I want to get some ink work done first. Only because I'll be in the sun and pools while I'm travelling not the best enviroment for a new tattoo! I was hoping to get a couple tattys here this fall so they could heal before I leave. I understand and constantly experience my bodies slowed down healing process with accutane, but I also read that accutane not only makes it harder for the artist to inject the ink into your skin, but also causes horrible scarring afterwards. I am currently planning on using Sept and Oct for accutane to leave my system. Then possibly getting some ink in November. Anyone here have an input on this?! Thank you.

i HAVE STOPPED MY ACCUTANE TREATMENT IN JULY AND i WAS GOING TO GET A TATTOO IN OCTOBER AND MY DERMITOLOGIST TOLD ME i HAD TO WAIT AT LEAST 6 MONTHS OR THE TATTOO MAY NOT WORK. i CHANGED MY APPOINTMENT FOR JANUARY...THE POINT IN GETTING A TATTOO IS TO HAVE A PIECE OF ART ON YOUR BODY NOT A BIG UGLY SCAR

I have 60+ hours of tattoo work and have been on accutane for a considerable portion of those hours.

I've never had an issues with getting tattoos while on accutane, nor have I ever heard anything about tattoos not taking well when you're on a regimen.

I'd guess that if your tattoo didn't heal well, it was more likely a result of the artist being subpar or you not following proper care procedures after receiving a tattoo.

I am 34 and am days away from finishing my second round of Accutane. Have been getting tattooed since I was 19. No tattoos during my first round of Accutane but did get tattooed this round. BAD IDEA. Take a year off tattooing. 6 months for the Accutane then 6 months after. I was able to heal thin black lines well, but not large colored areas. I now have one new tat that is a disaster and can't be fixed (if it even can be) for about a year.

I guess u could say since accutane makes you more sensitive that it is a bit more sore, depending where you got it. Mine took a little while longer to heal, my first took 3 days, this one was about 6. the only thing i experienced that i was worried about was the way it heeled, it was kind of blotchy scabs but, i continued to put A&D ointment on it twice a day and its now heeled completely and looks great!. I wouldnt worry just try to not scratch 8) you will be fine!

I've been on accutane for 3 months and my very reputable and knowledgable dermatologist said that there is no reason at all that accutane should badly affect getting a tattoo. My guess is that doctors who say otherwise are just afraid you'll sue them if something does go wrong so they decide to tell you to wait anyway just to cover their butt. They don't really care how badly you want your tattoo now. I got a giant piece up my side and it healed beautifully. I've had it almost four weeks now and it's just as vibrant as the day I got it. Your prescription insert tells you not to get tattoo removal, dermabrasion or waxing--don't you think they would make sure to mention tattooing if it was a problem? Yeah, I think so. If you notice everything they're telling you not to do involves removing skin surface, not injecting ink. Check out my tat if you want it's tyyyyte!! http://www.facebook.com/photo.php...

I got another big piece done on my arm during accutane, healed the same as all my other tattoos. I think its all misinformed hype and people who don't know how to take care of their tattoos. And what the person above me said, it does not say on the box not to. Of course, I could be wrong. Just my experience.

I had three hours of work done, been on accutane 20 mg for a month. The tattoo is healing perfectly fine. I also take zinc and vitamin E pills to encourage skin healing under the recommendation of my dermatologist. The tattoo healing process is different for every person regardless of accutane use, so I would imagine that it is the same for those of us who do actually use it.

I did not research the effects of accutane on tattoos before I got one, but I got lucky as my skin does not scar from tattoos. Some scar more than others no matter how well you follow a tattoo healing regimen. Know your body, and if you are unsure, then I would wait before getting a tattoo on Isotretinoin.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Libra

You're in an idealistic mood today and only want to see the best in other people. This is typical Libran behaviour, because you aren't good at facing up to harsh reality at the best of times. Today, you're ready to believe that someone is a candidate for sainthood or that they're the best thing that's ever happened to you, regardless of whether it's true or not.
