Roaccutane for 6 months and still got acne

Hi guys this is my 5th month on Roaccutane and my face has not cleared up 100% yet. I still get some big pimples occuring on my face and back. My course is only 6 months but I want to know whether the Derm can extend my treatment to like 8 months? A friend only cleared up on the 8th month so maybe I need to go on it for longer. Will my Derm let me or do you think he will make me wait 2 months before starting again? Thanks

i think he will cuz i had an exstention 2 my prescription 4 anotha 3 months, but it also depends on how much acne u have left, if u only have little acne he mite just give u this special steriod 2 get rid of that but if u are the same as me and still had quite a few he may increase your dosage for a month or 2 and trust it will get better

Thank you Rashad, did your acne clear up after the extension. I still have a couple and I have been prescribed 1 more month but Im worried it wont help much.

I fought with acne throughout my teenage years and tried everything to get rid of it (proactiv, neutrogena, retin-a, clean and clear, you name it). I experienced quite an initial breakout soon after I started accutane but was expecting it and told myself my skin would get better. I’m now in the last week of my treatment and my skin is flawless.
