ACCUTANE IS POISON! IT'S YOUR DECISION BUT TRUST ME IF I COULD TAKE BACK MY DECISION OF TAKING ACCUTANE I'D GIVE EVERYTHING I HAVE. MY FACE IS CONTINUALLY RED DUE TO THIS MEDICATION.

Hey Joe, That's amazing progress, keep a lip balm on you for the dry lips, and moisturise your face as much as need be, as for the marks left, accutane doesn't really affect this, but the course length will hopefully ensure it never comes back by altering your skin further. Try getting some cocoa butter as it helps smooth marks and blemishes, and has helped me with scarring too, this is a damn good moisturiser too. Best used at night.
Hey Ben, Keep in there man, some people even need a second or third course of accutane, but don't be confused, when these courses are up, it really does not come back. Be patient and keep with it. It really will work, even if you need a second course. I have heard cases of it clearing right at the end and still not coming back.
Good luck

I am 28 years old and have had skin problems since I was around 15. At first I thought it was simply acne but as time progressed it seemed to be a combination of things. At this point I have had two courses of accutane, which while I was on it was truly amazing. After my first course I relapsed about 4 months afterword. After my second course I relapsed about 10 months afterword. I have been back to the doctor numerous times since and have been told I have seborrheic eczema that is either in combination with acne or what is causing it. Does anyone out there know if something like a low dose of accutane is a treatment option for seborrheic eczema or if I should even consider a third course of treatment since the previous 2 haven't been succesful?

To Will or anybody who sees this i am currently now 1 month and 11 days into the sotret (accutane) treatment and my mores on my cheeks have completely closed it looks like i have no pores at all??? hahah its soo great my skin feels amazing still never oily finally normal, but still the small cysts and my cheeks are still kind of red from the blemishes still alot better since i have started accutane.. When can i expect to start seeing the cysts fade away? and the redness fading, uhhh!! i feel like my beautiful skin is rite around the corner..anybody who has used accutane who has any information please reply... Thank you sooo much!!!

The redness is part of the drug treatment and usually goes once you come off the course, so ignore that for now. As for the cysts, patience. They will not be loving the fact you already have cleared up from 'sotret'. It really is a case of keep doing your thing and watching them go slowly over the next couple of months or so.
The beautiful skin occurred with me as soon as i was off it, the spots went early like yours, as did some of the cysts, they took a month or two longer, then, i came off it, and the redness went, and my skin had a glow. 4 months off it, it still does. I imagine i would still be photosensitive though, so be careful with tanning.
good luck

ahhhh i see, red as in blemishes and scarring, that can take over a year for the more stubborn blemishes. Cocoa butter is good for toning the skin, and smoothing marks and blemishes. Use that at least once daily, very worth it.

Thanks Will, I mean I know EVENTUALLY it works but obviously I don't want to even think about a second course. It's not even that accutane bothered me that much, it's just I can't handle acne anymore. However, I have like 6 weeks left so I'm hoping to clear up on this course. It's actually kinda weird, the ride side of my face has been totally clear the last few days (except the major red marks that still need to fade), but the left side of my face still has like 4-5 cysts. I'm not sure how to look at the situation right now because the left side is sooo bad. I just really hope this is the only I have to take accutane because I'm in college and it's hard not drinking a lot.

My blemishes i guess you could say scars.. there almost as if there apart of my skin there just like red marks, theres no different feel to them.. will these fade overtime? since there is no like craters in my face and no gapeing holes? there just like bright red when im in a very well lit place.. It is located on the cheeks of my face, no where else on my body, im currently on accutane 30mg 1pill daily

Another question about accutane, im about 1 month and a half into accutane, and so far not much visual change of my acne on my cheeks still there n red blemishes, but like i said thats like the only place i get it, but my question is recently like 2 days ago i got a pimple down by my bottom lip a white head, and the next day it was scabbed and fell off? Same thing i got 1 pimple on my forhead then next day which is now its all scabed up?, why isent my cheek acne doing this and im not seeing results yet? maybe im just to anxous? considering im not even 2 months into accutane, out of a 6 month course =/ please anybody who has information or anything to add please post

That is what happens to them new ones now, that acne will fade in time too, its not instant. Give it time, stick with it, and drink plenty of fluids and keep moisturised in any dry patches
Good luck

Question, My acne is mostly around my cheeks and im almost 2 months into the course, not much visual change but for some reason around my acne its like really itchy???? i heard it could just be how dry my skin is altho you can not visibly see it peeling, most of my ace is still there but the bumps are not painfull anymore... It use to be so bad that i couldent even touch then , but altho there all still there my face feels alot smoother, So anyone with some information or has anything to add, please post Thank You!

Itchyness is part of the skin changing from sebunm production being slowed down totally, the pores changing shape etc, dont worry about that, and i hope you continue to fight the acne

I was taking a low does; 20-30mg a day for 4 months. I had lots of trouble with the drug but stuck with it. I have been off the drug for about one month and I have got to say that my skin is not any better off. I am still soooo blotchy and red and still have breakouts. I think this drug is OK but not for everybody.

Please wait...
I have taken accutane for 6 almost 7 months. I told my doctor that I wanted more but he told me that I could stop treatment. So I did and my skin is great. It is everything I have ever wanted. The most important thing is that every morning when i walk to that sink to wash my face and pat my face dry..the girl in the mirror has clear skin and i am so happy.
