Yes, what is with the idea that you need to eat 'high-fat' foods with the accutane? I read one forum with people recommending fried food and cheese/milk/peanut butter while on the pill.

That will just raise you chelestrol which the pill already does on it's own!

You're suppose to consume healthy fats...olive oil/avocado if anything! And eat more vegetables/frut.

Don't worry! Some people gain weight when taking this. It is almost a direct relation to taking birth control for the first time though. Oral Birth Control is known to increase appetite, making people eat more, hence the small weight gain. If you eat a small snack before taking accutane and your birth control you should be fine!

I am 8 weeks into my treatment, and with that tip someone else gave me, I haven't gained a pound!

This is my third time to come on these drugs, first time have been on it for 6 months, second time for 4 months and i just started my third course - i suppouse i am one of those rade cases that will need more time to get rid of my skin problem
I have not put any weight at all at any point, and it definitely does not affect your weight if you don't let it happen
Good luck to everyone

You are meant to take it after a meal anyway, it states clearly to take it with or just after a meal

I've tried both original brand and generic accutane. I prefer generic accutane - There is no difference in effectiveness as far as I can tell between the brand and generic versions. The real difference is price, no comparison. And this suppliers seem honest and reliable. On the site http://g-isotretinoin.info I've just placed my 3rd order.
Thanks for that address. http://g-isotretinoin.info has my pills within a week at my door. They perfectly work! I have found them very good value for money. My special discount coupon 1VQY12ZPi3

Accutane does not chemically cause weight gain. It can make you tired, it can make your joints a bit more sore and generally all the physical activities that can cause one to retain more calories than lose them throughout a day.(This is all outside of the increase from taking hormone birth control for the first time).

If you aren't taking vitamins - start. Avoid a multivitamin but stick with the ones that you lose a bit more while on Accutane. Zinc, Vitamin C, Calcium.

Add in some more things that are generally good for you no matter what like a Fish Oil, Flax seed with a bit of biotin in it.(Take this every other day instead of everyday because of the fact that it's aa Omega-3 Fatty Oil and it's a bit easier on your liver than the daily use) Take a B complex to help with energy levels. EXERCISE - seriously it really helps combat all the exhaustion issues and potential bad moods. Last but not least - Vitamin E. Accutane is causing your skin cells shed more quickly to increase skin turnover which is what chemically changes your cells to avoid the problems that can cause acne. Vitamin E moisturizes as well as increases cell turn over - which will help the Accutane do it's job while maintaining enough moisture to keep it healthy.

Around your third month it's a good idea to only wash your hair twice a week and make sure when you condition that you fully condition your scalp as well use a weekly homemade hair mask. This will keep your hair follicles moisturized enough to help prevent any extreme hair loss.

When your lips crack - include a triple antibiotic with aquaphor! This will help them heal MUCH faster to keep it from getting too bad.(The vitamin E REALLY helps your lips)

I just finished six months - my skin looks amazing, I haven't had any bloody noses and my lips crack very minimally for being someone who runs daily in only 20 degree weather. I've dropped 20 pounds since starting and all my blood work shows that I'm healthier than when I started it. If you are smart, ask a pharmacist for help, and exercise you will be happy with your clear skin as well as your over all health by the time it's done.

I have been on this from http://g-isotretinoin.info for 3 months now and have noticed a massive improvement of my acne. The acne on my back is practically non existent and the amount on my face has dramatically improved. I got lots of comments today saying how face has cleared up since I last saw these people 2 weeks ago. I now have much less acne on my face and it expected to all be gone in 3 more months forever. I am currently on 60mg a day one at morning and 2 at night and I am a 15 year old female. I have had some back pain when I play my weekly sport and dry lips but that is all the side effects I have had.

i feel fat as hell on accutane. this is my 6th week on it and i've pretty much stopped going to the gym (i used to go 2-3 times/week). to be honest, i'm not even taking birth control like how i'm supposed to (because i'm not having sex!), so i know it's not from hormones. i think accutance has made me sloth-like. i don't feel like moving rapidly lol, if that makes any sense. almost feels like i'm kinda dragging my body around. no, i am not depressed. thoughts anyone? i like what someone said about accutane exciting them so much that they're doing an all-around clean up of their exterior by working out more. that's pretty motivating!
yes, i got worst flare-ups before and it kinda looks the same as when i first received the medication. i'm going to try and be patient and just wait for my skin and accutane to do their thing.
I feel the exact same way. I haven't gained weight or lost it, but I eat like crazy and I'm always tired. My skin looks the exact same but dry and I have the rash on my hands. Still waiting for it to.do something positive...but I'm trying to be patient.

I'm an avid weight lifter, and I meticulously track everything I put into my body. After being on accutane for 15 days, I was shocked when I hopped on the scales and was losing weight (I was gaining muscle mass before using accutane). I increased my caloric intake and still, my weight would not go up. It took me a minute to figure out, but the only thing that has changed is the use of accutane. I think what I'm losing is water weight because I'm not losing any strength. This would also explain why my skin and lips are so dry. I'm almost certain that accutane causes a loss of water retention.

For those of you who are gaining weight, are you sure that the side effects like depression aren't causing you to eat more unhealthy foods? Depression can cause a craving for sugar, which is like a short term coping mechanism.

I started Accutane when I was 17. My skin looked really bad. I had pimples on my face approaching the size of dimes. The acne went over my shoulders, down the front of my chest and down to the bottom of my back. I tried all the creams and fancy products and nothing worked. My doctor finally put me on a round of Accutane from http://g-acne-treatment.info . The first dose I was on for a couple of months didn't do much, so the doctor doubled it. Within six months, my acne was almost all gone and I stopped treatment. Within 18 months I had zero acne and zero scarring - my skin was utterly flawless and still is. I am now basically cured of acne - less than half a dozen pimples in ten years. Miracle.

ive had a looooong and good relationship with isotrenin med. took a course of roaccutane and nimegen during my teenage (each lasted for only 2-3months) and i had flawless skin throughout my teenage and 20s. until the pregnancy hormones hit and gave me bad skin. now at 30 im taking another course of iso (oratane this time). been taking it for 3 weeks now on a very low dosage (20mg per week as im a small size woman) and my skin has cleared up to the point i dn have to wear tons of make up to cover up my bumps. old scar has faded up too.
no weight gain at all during all the courses but i do feel tired and lethargic this time around. i partially blame it on motherhood and taking care of 2 toddlers.
overall im very happy witj the result and totally ok with a little bit of side effect here and there (tired, dry lips, feeling blue sometimes )
