Hi all! I am often upset about my problem, especially when it interferes with my life. I've had this since I was a kid, as long as I can remember- I hid it from my parents for some reason and never had a doctor look at it until college. I thought they were just pimples... then they started getting worse. Today I've taken oral antibiotics that cleared eveything and prevented new boils but as soon as it was over, they came back. I always have at least one on it's way. I HATE it. My boyfriend wonders why I'm not a sexual person- well, when you have puss filled boils, shooting pain, and redness ALL THE TIME, its hard to feel in the mood. And telling my boyfriend what I have.. ohhh man was that fun.
I don't understand why doctors can't cure us!!!!
WHAT THE HELL? My doc refused to put me on more antibiotics.. I guess she figures ill have it for my whole life and I shouldnt let my body get used to the antibiotic too early... I am very depressed about this.
I have to start using a warm compress to get this sucker gone quick... It's really inconvenient and extremely embarrassing.
Althought they make me angry and teary I really appreciate being able to read all your posts. Thanks!!
If you have "shooting pain" get yourself a bottle of oil of oreganol p-73 and apply it. it will kill the pain for up to 20 hours.
looks like this.(Highly reccommend for pain) Safe, nontoxic, natural. Google and buy from who ever you want.
http://www.allhealthtrends.com/oreganol-p73-o...

For the infections you can use a 10%manuka/5% tea tree oil. This kills topical staph/folliculitis well.
Get this from Manu Nutracueticals New Zealand.
http://www.manuka-nz.co.nz/index.php/cPath/30...

To restore the healthy flora you need probiotics

www.customprobiotics.com (broad spectrum flora)

Simultaneously clean up your diet and switch to raw food to correct your p.h.,enhance immunity, unloads sodium chloride, etc. etc. which effects how pathogens grow in your body.

One more thing.

Since staph appears as folliculits and also as impetigo and you are using a homeopath you might also want to look into these.

I recognize the ingredients used and they do come from Ayurvedic medicine.

This might also help you because we as a society have come to an end in the antibiotic era.

There is nothing more after vancomycin and methacillian and certainly those are not without making matters worse by destruction of your microflora and other complications.

Many times they fail to work. Which is why we have vancomycin resistant staph and methacillian resistant staph. aka MRSA.

Personally I would choose the homeopath plus, raw food diet by www.waisays.com and the other links I gave you for topicals to knock this out.
Bringing your systemic p.h. back into balance is also very important by eating raw and raw juicing.

Here are two staph impetigo homeopaths. But like I said impetigo and folliculitis are closely related as they are both staph aureus.

But if you try these things please keep me posted. Good luck buddy.

An interesting turn of events in my situation. Finally some progress... hopefully it will continue. After all the antibiotics and Accutane and orals and topicals and this and that, what has really made a difference in less than a week? Washing the affected area with Selson Blue Dandruff shampoo and applying a fungal foot cream after the shower to my butt. Granted, it's not perfect, as I have cysts that need to be removed, but my butt is very smooth, no inflammation yet and not looking bad (that bad I should say). Considering I've been dealing with this condition the better part of 10 years, it's amazing, and a bit aggravating to know that possibly all I needed was something in the supermarket all along.

I've had the same issue with the nasty butt pimple problem for as long as I can remember and I'm 35 now. Finally found a cure I heard from someone else(antibiotics didn't work for me) ok so....first wash with dial antibacterial soap(let the soap sit on your butt for a few minutes before rinsing) then..use neutregena body scrub for breakouts. again wash with that and let sit for a few minutes(also like twice a week scrub with a loofa with the body scrub) then once your done dry off really good and put bactine(antiseptic for infections..you can get at a drug store) let dry for a few minutes before putting on undies.TOTALLY WORKED FOR ME!

I used the antibacterial washes, scrubs and even was washing with Betadine for a while. I swear it just aggravated the problem. So far I think that washing with dandruff shampoo and applying anti-fungal creams worked best for me. I guess it depends what is the cause of the boil/pimples, ie. bacteria or a fungus (I swear I don't have mushrooms sprouting out my butt).
I'm stil not cleared up and have a nasty bump in my inner thigh close to my crotch (how attractive!!!!), but my bumps are much better than when I started this post almost 2 years ago.

To Christina. Believe me, I feel your pain. Anytime it's the first time to get intimant with someone, and their hands starts to caress me, I'd instantly pull away for fear of them pulling away and being repulsed. I have found honesty is the best policy. If you're marrying the guy, he loves you enough to overlook that and be supportive of your condition. I hate the fact that I got cysts on my butt and thighs, but if I see my boyfriend with pimples on his back, it doesn't bother me. I try and flip the script and think then mine doesn't bother him either. Love is love.... it does not judge. As for getting rid of them, I've been trying for over 10 years now and seem to find that, aside from Accutane (for about a year), the only thing that keeps it subdued is washing with dandruff shampoo and an antifungal cream. Try that. Antibiotics never worked for me. Good luck, and give your fiance some credit.... I'm sure he's not that shallow.

I don't think I'd be so brazen to snap photos of my butt, so I'll have to pass.
It's amazing actually. I've said in previous posts and I'll say it again.... the best result I've had so far is washing the affected area with Selson Blue dandruff shampoo. That's it. It's been a few months and I've had no new break outs and the pre-existing cysts barely flare up anymore, if at all. I'm shocked to know that a few bucks every month almost cured my condition. Don't get me wrong, Accutane was great for a few months, but after stopping everything came back. Not to mention the cost. Try the shampoo thing for a month and see if it helps. It sounds crazy, but it helping the situation gave me such new confidence, I can't believe it.

I have had the butt pustule problem since puberty. I tried every cosmetic product known to man to get rid of it. Dandruff shampoo, Lactic Acid cream, Benzoyl Peroxide, you name it, it didn't work. I kept seeing people post about changing my diet, but I didn't buy it. From reading everything about this problem it was supposed to be a fungal or bacterial thing that only a doctor could possibly treat. Dermatologists told me to "keep the area clean and dry", which did nothing. Finally I gave in. The only thing left to try was to change my diet. First I tried a gluten free diet, which I saw some improvement from, but not 100%. Then I tried a sugar free diet, again some improvement. I finally eliminated most all carbs from my diet, and you know what, it's gone. I figured out you don't have to remove all carbs, just the bad modern refined ones. White bread, white flour, white rice, and white sugar will ALWAYS give me a new pustule, even in very small quantities. Natural foods are fine, but any simple carb will bring on an outbreak. Just try it, it's hard but worth it. You'll lose weight and lower your blood sugar too which is a bonus.

Funny you mention the carb thing... I've noticed that anytime I've reduced my carb intake I have less flare-ups. It seems that for the last few months though that dandruff shampoo is doing the trick. I don't know how, but even the worst reaccuring cysts have stopped flairing. Whatever is working, I don't know... but I'm just glad everything seems to have subsided.

Folliculitus is not that easily cured, silverado. I wish it was.
I have had the most success with some homeopathy medicine. antimonium crudum and myristica seb. are two that my boyfriend found for me on ABChomeopathy.com ... not sure how bc that website is confusing. When I take theses meds, 5 pellets dissolved under tounge for 3xs a day, it goes away.
Is this similar to herpes? I've been reassured my three doctors that I can't give it to my boyfriend... I think I can. This is stupid. I HATE this
(Sorry for the long angry posts)
What you have is absolutly not herpes and you cannot give it to your boyfriend. It occurs in the crease of the buttocks. Pilonidal cysts often begin as tiny areas of infection in the base of the area of skin from which hair grows (the hair follicle). With irritation from direct pressure, over time the inflamed area enlarges to become a firm, painful, tender nodule that makes it difficult to sit without discomfort. These frequently form after long trips that involve prolonged sitting. So don't stress out, you CANT GIVE IT TO YOUR BOYFRIEND.

Well, if it's bacterial then you can cause infection on others... especially if it's Staph related. But, it's not a STD.

Yeah I get this stuff on my legs and butt. Had it for years now and finally think I'm getting on top of it. I think the breakthrough was Head & Shoulders Dandruff Shampoo. I think picking them on my thigh contributed to spreading them. The scars left over suck much worse when you pick them too, and also when you pick it seems the follicle easily gets infected again so don't pick it as much as it tempts you! Even when it's near the end DON'T PICK. Arghh I think we can make it people just keep on it

Oh man, I thought I was the only one! I've had spots, lumps, and bumps since i was little and just hid them. Now I'm back single again it's dreading the moment when someone new tries to slide their hands down my buttocks...eek!
I've shown my bum to many professionals but to no help, maybe the odd steriod cream. i always thought I would grow out of this but I'm now 36. Flare ups are worse if i've been sitting for a long time or been wearing a bikini.
They are so painful today, including the crease under my bum i'm thinking of getting a UV light. i would walk areound naked a bit more but who wants to see that! i think I'll try the head and shoulders and see pray and hope that works.

I jus wanted to let you all kno that i have had this same condition for 8 years not and visited 5 dermatologist who treated me for acne which makes the condition WORSE!!
accutance is the worse thing to take for folliculitis....
believe me when i finally found out what it was i went to work...if you have this condition bad(like myself) you will need oral antibiotics with peniclillan and a topical cream that helps fight bacteria...hope this helps some of you...

I've had this for about 11 years now.. It comes and goes. Antibacterial wash helps, but I think mine is related to bread. I notice that after I eat any kind of bread (flour) I get breakouts on my butt and inner thighs. But if I don't eat it, they go away. Hope this helps someone.

You want to work on activities that will show you in a good light, and you'll be annoyed if anyone objects to what you're doing or points out where you're going wrong. If you've been nursing a secret passion for someone, the frustration will really get to you.
