It would not surprise me to see all these religious nutjobs hanging out at pharmacies seeing who buys an EPT and getting their spy's to tell them who buys MAP or gets a prescription. Yes, photo's and addresses from the pharmacy so they can have their hired thugs go shoot them. The voices inside their heads tell them Jeesus wants them to kill anybody that does not agree with them. |

My bet is that they'll just start targeting pharmacists the way they target doctors. Perhaps we should buy Michelle a kevlar vest for her b-day! |

Yes, we know the religious right nut jobs have already targeted women getting legal prescriptions for things like birth control pills. I would not be in the least bit surprised. |

1 Maybe they will have to resort to shooting each other. |

Who has been targeted for BC prescriptions? Can you cite an instance, please? |

For your reading pleasure. I have more articles if this is not enough for you. http://www.prevention.com/cda/article/access-... http://www.blogher.com/birth-control-pills-be... http://www.salon.com/mwt/broadsheet/2007/05/3... http://www.boston.com/bostonglobe/editorial_o... |

This is not women being targeted by PL protestors for getting BC prescriptions as you alluded to. These links are about pharmacies opting not to fill the prescriptions. Not the same thing, Nana. |

No? Perhaps they're not being targeted by PL protestors when they go to the drug store to get the prescription filled; but they're being targeted by being denied a prescription to fill, because it "causes many silent abortions." These women are in their right to bring forth ethics complaints against these doctors. For starters, doctors are not allowed to make medical decisions that adversely impact their patients, especially when those decisions are made on unsubstantiated moral grounds. Thes |

Let's presume that BCP's and IUD's are declared illegal and Roe v. Wade is overturned; thus, declaring abortion illegal.
What will the PL's or Anti-Abortionists will propose next? Forced tubal ligations or worse yet, forced vasectomies on men? Of course, they'd be through attacking women, so why not make it open season on men also? They'll have to think of a way to keep all the unwanted pregnancies from being carried to term, and the undoubtedly resulting anarchy from those tax payers who will protest the 50% increase on their medicare tax and the many WOMEN and their kids on street corners holding signs that say "denied abortion and BCPs. Hungry and homeless Please help 'God' Bless!" How do PLfers like those apples????? |

Pharmacists are not bound to fill every prescription someone hands them. You're hyperventialting. |

Actually, they are. If they have a moral objection to filling a prescription, maybe they need to find another line of work. |

As long as the prescription is written by a licensed physician for proper medical treatment, is approved by the FDA, the pharmacist doesn't own the pharmacy and/or does not receive Federal subsidies for the filling of prescriptions for Medicare and/or Medicaid patients, and the patient has the $$ or a valid medical insurance card, and finally, the medication is legal to be prescribed, the pharmacist has a duty to fill it. Go find more unfounded rhetoric. |

Poor proof reading; should be:
and/or the pharmacy receives. |
|||
Just like I said-they aren't bound to fill every prescription laid in front of them. You just typed conditions as to why some would be, not that all are bound to. If the pharmacist owns the pharmacy, he/she can fill whatever the hell they want or none if they don't want. |
||||
Maybe they do, but if Jim at Jim's Pharmacy doesn't want to fill it, he doesn't have to. |

And you're wrong. Maybe you folks in Bellevue Nebraska and perhaps the rest of the backwards Midwest don't have any problems with discrimination, but unless the entire Midwest somehow recently divorced itself from the United States, such selective practices would, quite soon be proven extremely damaging business decisions. |

Jim at Jim's pharmacy won't be likely chosen as a participating pharmacy for most insurance providers then will he. Jim might want to install a soda fountain and sell sandwiches to make a living. |
|||
Thanks-I need someone from 'progressive Florida' to set me straight. It may be a damaging business decision, but it's still Jim's decision, which was the point of my post. How are the reading comprehension scores in Florida these days? |
