I'm beginning to think that the ban isn't going to happen. Some of these "advisors" tried the same thing with Darvon about 6 months ago and nothing at all has happened. Darvon's pretty bad, IMO, but again, some people have no other choice for pain relief. There's been quite an uproar in response to the 6/30/09 advisory. It would not be bad if a black box were put on the container for combined opioids if the goal is to get people to read the directions. As for abusers, I really don't care. They shouldn't have the medication to begin with, and will find alternative toys as soon as this one is banned--so nothing will change except the suffering of legitimate patients.
